I didn't get the part that said: in phagocytosis, antibodies are important because they allow the receptor proteins on the surface of neutrophils attach to the pathogens. it'll be very helpful if you could explain that, thank you :D

Hi Devi, antibodies in immune response help with clumping pathogens together or by attaching to pathogens so that the neutrophils can identify them. This makes it easier for the receptor proteins on the neutrophils to attach to the pathogens. Neutrophils are non-specific immune cells and sometimes require the assistance of antibodies in identifying what they ought to bind to and where they should bind.

If the digested phagocytes are released into the blood then the neutrophils will be in the same shape as they were before they interacted with the pathogen. So why do neutrophils die?

Hi Hundaol, there's a process called apoptosis. It means programmed cell death. Neutrophils are programmed to be short-lived, so they die after targeting an infection. Fun fact: you can find them dead in the pus from a burst pimple, especially if the pimple was caused by a bacterial invasion beneath the skin surface 😀

When pathogen invade the body and cause infection what does macrophage do at that time? Because all the story was about neutrophil in phagocytosis Where does macrophage comes and do its part

It does antigen presentation. It takes the antigen of the pathogen and presents it to the t-helper cells, which stimulate other cells by the secretion of cytokines to do their job in an immune response, like phagocytosis and secretion of h2o2 by t-killer cells.

The spleen is an organ in your abdomen. It carries out immune functions but the liver is able to do most of the same function.
