In today's Adobe Illustrator speed art video you'll see full illustration process from pencil sketch to finished flat character illustration with noise textures.
In this illustration tutorial you'll see how to use the blob brush to trace all shapes with one color (which will allow you to save your time), pick colors for traced shapes using the recolor artwork feature and apply grain textures using the opacity mask and gradients (freeform gradient mostly).
You can easily learn the main hints, because I slowed down all adjustments, setups and experiments with values.
