So when someone misrepresents what Defund the Police means that makes them right? You can, erroneously claim that Defund the Police means exactly that, just end police departments then that says more about you than about the the issue. Camden, NJ, which is directly across from me, was the murder capitol of the US even though it was a small city. Police abuse was rampant. They actually dismantled the entire force firing everyone including the Chief. They then allowed everyone to re-apply and set rules and criteria for police citizen interaction. Crime went down drastically and police assaults also did. Police were required to interact with the public. Police who did not intervene when a cop did wrong were subject to firing. The Union was dismantled which would normally encourage the other officers to protect even bad officers instead of following their oath of service to the public. The Union was developed again later but after a better culture was formed. Are they perfect? No, but they have come a long way. That was the drastic step. Defend is just changing some of the funds spent on military equipment spent on training, teams that are assigned to report to mental health issues which they are trained for a d police are not. It is about making policing better not hurting police. There is no reason a person should be afraid of stopping for police instead going to a lighted place because you fear them and what they will do when you are doing nothing. They view you as a criminal and treat you that way even when you are doing nothing. Even when you have served your country. That is the fear of every Black parent with a growing young adult child. kzitem.info/news/bejne/uKGw3JVnfYWFiXo Wait until they say anything most of these commenters believe then they will be clumped in and called race baiters if they said the police acted wrong in the case of the case military guy stopped.

On the other end. The sad thing is people still think the problem with this country is Democratic or Republican and it's really cronyism controlling the social stratification, rigging the system for an illusion of freedom.. Like 1500 bills were passed into law by companies and lobbying firms in the past nine years.. these are people in companies not elected officials people put into office.. while the politicians who are pushing certain agendas play the people, loopholes are being implemented that just silently put more control on the social stratification of the country.. luckily one can still get wherever they want in this country if they move out of bad areas, work hard enough and strive for excellence. let's just hope that doesn't go away..

@@fernandowade1909 how well said with your first comment. No way that young lady should have gotten or deserve to get killed. But it was all because of an unfortunate misunderstanding. (1) The bf didn't know those heavily armed men that was breaking inside his house were the police. So naturally has a legal gun holder he's going to open fire to protect himself. (2) The police is now being shot on, of course they are going to immediately shoot back as they are trained to do. They did not intentionally killed Ms.Taylor, they were only acting in self defense.

Charles & Shaq are correct and on point. I am black, 55 yrs old, worked 20+ years in law enforcement. You have to look at each case separately, and not put them all in one barrel. To Chuck's point, yes it is tragic that B.T. died the way she did but, bc of her boyfriend, his criminal lifestyle and his actions, she was living in a dangerous environment bc of him but, she chose to be with him and being a criminal has consequences.

This is why the NBA on TNT is such a great program. Because of Charles and Shaq. Unlike the MSM, they are honest and don’t care about hurting someone’s feelings.
