In December, 1876, Charles Cross, the man who, twelve years later, would find the body of Mary Nichols, was involved in an accident on Elizabeth Terrace, in Islington, that would result in the death of a four year old boy by the name of Walter Williams.
In this video, we pay a visit to Elizabeth Terrace and tell the story of the accident that occurred there.
Using the newspaper reports of the age, we follow the events of that day as they unfolded.
We also pay a visit to Buck's Row, the thoroughfare where, on August the 31st, 1888, Charles Cross would discover the body of Jack the Ripper's first victim Mary Ann Nichols.
