I agree & it's the main reason why I dont like his videos with young folk, I've asked Charliebo313 to at least interview different age groups of people, like a local mechanic, pastor, someone working as a janitor, a restaurant worker, etc....The young interviews are too repetitive & they all say & act the same because of social media.....At least in our generation it was real & raw....today the majority of these kids ain't gangbanging but yet they throwing up gangsigns & saying they gangstas.....I guess today they have rewritten what gangbanging means.....it seems today if 3 or more black males who listen to rap music & pulls down there pants then that qualifies for gangbanging.....I guess my son & his lil friends are gangbanging then....smfh

These young men all started in life as innocent beautiful babies (seriously), lack of strong 💪 positive male role models is obvious and the list of lack goes on. Charleston called George Legree, where even the cops were afraid to go...They tore it down in the '90s and gentrified that area...I'm surprised the Eastside is still standing, but like dude said in the video, it was much worse back in the day...I was a little kid then and I was afraid to tell dudes that I lived in N. Charleston whenever I was on the Eastside. They would beat you up just because you weren't from there...Kids were getting shot in school.. some got stabbed.. Teachers got beat up and stabbed.. jay fine When you push a consumer-centric narrative that glorifies excesses, you can’t be surprised when people without means or resources find a way to either get that money or take it from someone else. That’s capitalism, for you. It’s all based off of making obscene money off of someone else’s finite time on this planet. This is what we want. We want fiat money and purchasing power. Even social interactions, down to their most intimate levels, are based off of money. As long as selling one bag of heroin makes you more profit than being shtted on for an hour of minimum wage work, you best believe there will be a black market and people doing it their own way. That’s just facts. You can look at the people who engage in this system however you want, I don’t necessarily look down on them because I understand the ingrained motivations. Maybe if we had a classless and moneyless society where goods went directly where they are needed, without hoarding or gaming the system for greed, you wouldn’t have a lot of the socioeconomic issues you have. I can’t blame these guys for doing it their way, as they’ve been taught it’s not about the greater good of society, it’s about you and gettin yours’.
@lochnessamonster1912
4 жыл бұрын
jay fine 1)Anything that’s outside of the realm of necessity is by definition a luxury good. Capitalism is not concerned with providing an equitable distribution of life necessities, it is driven by profits. Profits on luxury goods are exponentially higher than on basic necessities. A Rolex is worth magnitudes more than a box of cereal. Therefore, there must be an incentive to push consumers towards purchasing these goods. This is done (obviously I thought) by the media, marketing firms and through social stigma/pressure from manufactured consent. With actual life needs, this is done in other ways, artificial scarcity is an example, but that’s another story. 2) Of course they’re puppets, as you put it. That’s the entire point. You ,and I, and they are raised to be consumers from the time we are put into Pampers. You are a dollar sign, not a human to be provided for, from the bills you are forced pay to the selling of your personal data. It’s nearly impossible, but, personally, I try not to feed into the system. I haven’t purchased new clothes in two years. I have used furniture and appliances. I dumpster dive and don’t eat out ever. This helps me from falling into the trap of wanting more and better crap. Lol 3)You’re simply mistaking my sympathy for them with my condoning their behavior. I certainly don’t think they will be rich, and I don’t separate their greed and desire from a rich person’s. The end goals are the same, accumulation of goods and wealth. But, don’t worry! Capitalism has even made a way for you to benefit from their criminal behavior. Buy defense and private prison stocks. ;) 4) Capitalism isn’t freedom. It’s the exact opposite of freedom. It’s an unethical system that requires our constant and unconsenting participation, in a dog eat dog mode of survival that tears down class consciousness and creates in humane conditions for a large number of those participants. Health care is a great example of this. You very well may die if you aren’t forced into working a full time job. If you read all of this and still think that capitalism (an economic theory) is the same as freedom (a state of mind, because freedom is always subjective) then you really don’t get it, either purposefully or idiotically.
@lochnessamonster1912
4 жыл бұрын
jay fine Quick question: If no responsibility is on our government to provide for us, then why do we participate in a representative democracy? What do we elect officials for?
@lochnessamonster1912
4 жыл бұрын
jay fine 1) You’re still overlooking the fact that we are forced into a capitalist system and that it operates overtly on production/consumption. That isn’t freedom, as I understand it. How much economic growth is achieved by a capitalist state that would only focus on creating food, water and shelter? Also, it is impossible to separate luxury goods from advancement in our modern, materialist society, at this point. Transportation is now both a luxury and a necessity that you have to buy into, whether it is purchasing a car or riding the bus to get to work. I mentioned not buying new clothes. If I have a job interview, how likely am I to be hired in a holy tshirt and scuffed jeans? Is a phone both a necessity and a luxury, key to, say, applying for those jobs? I may have food, but my refrigerator is required to store it and then I have to pay electric to keep it running. Taking it a step further, if necessities were provided for in a society without question, then how likely would the consumer be to then pursue purchasing luxury goods? Would that not strengthen our socioeconomic outcomes, across the board? 2) Puppet was your terminology, which I simply carried on with. I prefer to use the word consumer, as you can see. The freedom of choice is an illusion, as ive pointed out with prior responses. And as long as economic outcomes are poor there will always be people forced into making “poor choices.” Negative social outcomes are largely related to negative economic ones, not the other way around. 4) No. Your own example proves that freedom =/= capitalism. As we type, there are humans already living your social experiment. Tribal people survive by means of mutualism, providing for their life necessities, without any form of capitalist intervention. No money, no barter. Communal living is an original form of societal structure. Are they less free without capitalism? I would argue they are more free than you or I. Freedom is only that which has been endowed to you, in a western sense.

Just a quick stroll thru the Market on the Battery will show you the different artisans and entrepreneurs of all ages out there bossin up.
