As a side note, Gotti Jr. wasn't a good boss by any stretch lol. He wasn't made for the streets, he didn't belong, and he wasn't respected at all aside from being the son of his dad who was a well-regarded gangster. Junior's place as acting boss of the Gambinos was entirely predicated on Gotti Sr. using him as his eyes and ears on the street while Sr. was doing life with no parole. The son didn't accomplish anything aside from giving the feds a list of made guys in the Gambinos and other families because he left the piece of paper loose in his house. Then Junior tried leaving the life and ended up getting like five federal indictments that bankrupted him and ruined his life for a long stretch of years. Then Gotti Sr. put his older brother in charge who was even less respected than the son because he was a dolt who coasted off the his brother's name and made a good target for the feds. The only Gottis who were real gangsters were John Gotti Sr. and his other brother, Gene Gotti, who took a 50-year sentence on the chin in the late 80's and got out not long ago after doing almost 30.

Makes me think of the wire when Cuddy told Avon he was done with the game and Slim told Avon he used to be the man back in the day and Avon said “nah he a man today.” Avon realized that Cuddy wanted to enjoy a different life and because Avon was cut from that old skool cloth he respected it. If only the streets had more Avons then more “Cuddys” won’t be afraid to speak up
