🥟 Portions: 8-10 generous portions
⏲️ Preparation time: 30 minutes to prepare the ingredients and assemble the cake.
⏲️ Cooling time: at least 4 hours or overnight
🥄 Ingredients:
🧀 500g mascarpone
🥛 500ml liquid whipped cream
🍬 200g powdered sugar (optional)
🍓 500g fresh strawberries or other seasonal fruits
🍪 400g Savoyard biscuits
🥛 200ml milk
📝 Instructions:
🥣 In a large bowl, mix 500g of mascarpone with 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar (if using) until you get a fine and homogeneous composition.
🥄 In another bowl, beat 500ml of liquid whipping cream with the rest of the powdered sugar until you get a firm consistency.
🍓 Wash and chop the strawberries. If you want, you can keep some for decoration.
🥣 Gradually add the whipped cream over the mascarpone mixture and the chopped strawberries, mixing gently until fully incorporated.
🥣 In a small bowl, pour 200ml of milk.
🍪 In a tray or cake form, place the savoiardi biscuits so that they cover the entire surface.
🍪 Quickly soak the biscuits in the milk in the bowl, one by one, and place them in a single layer on the bottom of the pan.
🥣 Place a generous layer of mascarpone and whipped cream mixture over the biscuits.
🍓 Add a layer of fresh strawberries on top of the mascarpone and whipped cream mixture.
📝 Repeat the layers, adding milk-soaked biscuits, mascarpone and whipped cream mixture, and fresh strawberries, until the mold is completely filled.
❄️ Cover the form with food foil and leave the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight, so that it hardens.
🍓 After it has hardened, decorate the cake with whole or sliced strawberries before serving.
🔪 Cut into portions and serve.
