Sometimes Hollywood does see through dry words history and its prejudices to speak with eyes and your song noticed too. We miss Donna Reed, Secretary of Peace who wins the hearts and minds of enemies by solving problems by considering herself expendable; and Charlton Heston who believed in moral defense of all. Thank You for reminding me with your score editing of what they stood for.

I know the historical facts are dubious however like all of his romantic roles no one does it better than Heston

Donna Reed was a great actress, whether in comedy or a dramatic setting.

It is quite rare for Heston to play the role of a seemingly unfaithful man who loves two women at the same time. However, I love to watch his struggling in this movie though the rating of the movie is very low.

The film maker said this story was based on the true expedition by Lewis and Clark. It also said most of the story were fictions. Naturaly ,most of the story didn't match the true history.

The producers & writers of this movie should be ashamed. Nothing wrong with a good love story, but to make a love story out of one of the most important events in American history is pathetic. This movie actually should have been described as a comedy.

Hollywood did the same thing with Pearl Harbor. "From Here to Eternity" (all versions), "In Harm's Way", and the more recent (2001) "Pearl Harbor". You would think, there could be a simple movie about the Lewis and Clark Expedition based soled on the extensive journals kept by both men.

Its Hollywood, the majority of period movies in the 50s, usually have a love story to reel viewers.

Terribly wrong, information and history not correct. Racist and nutty movie. I like Reed and Heston but this movie sucks.

Could be, but you weren't there to interpret otherwise.

No movie is 100% accurate, especially historical period pieces. There needs to be a story line that attracts viewers and keeps them entertained throughout the film.
