The insight and efforts going into this pro tip video cannot be understated. The Thermae is such an incredible pedal. you’ve demonstrated that you have to adapt to how the thermae responds to what you’re giving it to get the most out of it. And the stop animation, video game aesthetic takes this production to another level. Subscribed and can’t wait to see more pro tips!

Excellent video. The greasy slapback chorus and the beautiful degraded repeats were amazing. But the Deco after the thermae was probably my favorite, the Deco's stereo width just makes everything awesome.

You say to set the tap tempo for the slowest possible for the degraded section but it can go way slower than that, up to 2.5 seconds. Part of it is that according to your diagram you have it at 1/8th notes but it stil sounds faster than 1.25s. Otherwise cool demo!
@CyberattackWorld
3 жыл бұрын
You make a good point. The reason I had the subdivisions on 1/8 is that the other settings, while slower, introduced extreme bitcrushing-I hate to say it but it was almost too much degradation for me. It was like an entirely different effect, whereas what I wanted to show off was the “most” degradation you could get while remaining in the world of classic analog weirdness. So what I really meant was “slowest possible tap tempo with the subdivision on 1/8,” or at least I think that’s what I meant, if my understanding of how the division switches interact with the tap tempo is correct. You’re right that I’m not actually getting as slow as possible in the example. Thanks for watching and thank you also for keeping me honest.

I bought a Thermae recently and at first I was like... meh. I already own a MF-104 analog delay and didn't think the Thermae was worthy. THEN, I flipped on the "sequence" and ran a sequence from a hardware sequencer controlling a Eurorack and GONZA... WTH.... it sounded awesome. The more I fiddled with the sequence on the Thermae the more awesome it sounded. I need to get it hooked up to a MIDI box, now. Yeah... thanks Chase Bliss for using a non-standard TRS MIDI implementation. Sheesh...

Diggin the video amigo. Do you have any ambient suggested settings? I just preordered one and to be honest I’m a little intimidated by its features. What would you say is it’s learning curve?
@CyberattackWorld
3 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I don't feel like I understand it fully myself (especially the DIP switches). So in terms of feeling intimidated, I hear ya. But for ambient settings I would recommend using my pro-tip #3 as a starting point, and then tweak from there by gently exploring the Glide knob and one of the interval knobs. Just use your ears and you will find stuff you like. I also recommend Mark Johnston's KZitem video about it, he concentrates on ambient sounds specifically, and the way he talks about the pedal overall makes me think he understands it better than I do.
