Having flown both the Lear 35 and 55……I’m watching his take off….. and i’m thinking to myself, “positive rate, gear up, flaps up”……and I’m watching and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for the flap retraction. Frankly, the work load is higher in a piston twin after takeoff so I’m wondering why there was such a long delay.

Impressive. You have to go through a lot of training and hours to get a single pilot certification rating to fly this (known as the CE-525 rating) over just being left seat PIC type rated for the CitationJet series. Most importantly on hours, you have to have enough to be insured at a reasonable rate for said rating!
@arthouston7361
Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty straightforward actually. You need your multi engine ticket and you need a type rating….. and the citation type rating is one of the easiest to get, and Flight Safety does them every day….. and then you need to fly with an insurable pilot for about 100 hours. Piece of cake. For someone with that kind of money and time in the off-season to do the type rating and get the multi ticket…… just about anybody with means can do it.

I live in the flight path (Laurens SC} and tracked him after the Darlington Race a few weeks ago and I went outside and watched him fly just south of my home passing by at 12:01am and he landed at the Elliots private runway behind their home about four miles NW of Dawsonville at around 12:22am. Single pilot in a jet has its dangers. With his cash it is highly recommended that he get a right seat pilot even if the right seat pilot possesses no more than a Private Pilot Certificate just in case the left seat pilot becomes incapacitated for 1 reason or another. Chase does score much cool points however and he is making driving his jet look super easy. Looks like a Cessna Citation V SP but I am not sure. Chase must have in excess of a thousand hours to get the type rating for this baby. Looking at his departure, one of my thoughts was "engine failure on take off; what do you do"?
