My dad used to take me and my 2 brothers to football practice and school in this exact same model of car except it was silver, it’s friggin hilarious seeing it street racing let alone doing 7’s, the cars heavy and brick, shows you how powerful the Barra is, I reckon even doing 20 sec with the original engine would be impossible lmao

I remember when these where first released , i was still an apprentice at ford ( Jeezus i`m old :( ) , i always liked the XD , i loved the airy glass house feel to the cabin , we used to have the police contract with the divvy vans , general duties sedans and highway cars . when they first come out , one of the big talking items was the plastic fuel tank that would be tested by a 36 foot drop full of water , and the start of basic electronics in to our local cars . Who out there remembers points and condensers and grease nipples :) ? ah the good old days .

As an ex-owner of an XD Falcon 302 Clevo many many years ago, it almost defies logic that a SIX CYLINDER (!) XD can these days be comfortably street driven and also in the hit the 7’s on the track. It’s just nuts. You would be in an asylum if you said those were achievable in the 90s when I had mine! What a time to be alive hey

How crisp does that sound, has to be the sweetest tone of any barra I've heard. I have an xf fairnont ghia, turbocharged crossflow. There's never a day when it doesn't feel planted, top gear skids on the highway are too easy. I tow my boat as well, just to rub it in.

There are a million cars here in America with 120-180 HP that have huge wings on the back trunk. You have 1,000 HP and not so much as a ripple on that trunk lid. No canards,no velocity thingies on the roof. Not even a vent or hood scoop. How it goes so fast without all that- a miracle!

Fantastic Car. I had a 300 ZX fully worked back in the day. All the work was done by Wyld Automotive. But it was something about the Ford XDs that made me always want one. A guy I used to work with had a stock standard model. He was the first owner straight from the dealership (Ford Lidcombe). I would catch a lift home with him every day and it was a beautiful car. He kept it in good condition too.
