Kids today cannot ever EVER get how hard this ending is, back in a time when if your broke up, there was no social media, barely any internet, when you broke up, you broke up for real. Even if you hung out in the same places, the chances of seeing each other slimed a lot, and you had no clue what the other was doing.... In a strange way...a better time to heal for many.

Banky: "No. Not really." Holden: "Hey." Banky: "Hey." Holden: "Great job" Banky: "Thanks." Holden: "You were right. I'm sorry it ended the way it did. I should not have put the both of you in such an awkward position." Banky: "Guess not. Some doors just shouldn't be open. You see her over there?" Holden: "Yeah. I'm very nervous." Banky: "Maybe you'll both share a moment." Holden: "Maybe. I hope time has healed old wounds." Banky: "You're so right." Holden: Banky: Holden: "Good to see you again. See ya." Banky: "Yeah....Bye. OK who's next?" Fast forward to the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, "Chasing Amy" becomes a successful comic book. Holden has a podcast. He and Alyssa become co-parents to a little girl and she's negotiating to have a Netflix series adaptation of "Chasing Amy" because that would never work as a movie :P

@@williamstanley5900The dramatic part of that movie was fucking fantastic, but the comedic side was a piece of trash. Maybe Smith should do another genre turnaround, and make dramas instead of comedies.

@itsRabbitSeasonYo you should stay off the internet. Comment section is always gonna be mean for opinions good or bad. If you get butthurt easily I'd suggest you don't ever scroll down comments and lighten up. I love ben affleck but it is sad and that's my opinion. Mind you he's my #1 celebrity crush so I wish the best for him. Relax , hun

I think "Amy" and Ben Affleck's Character end up back together after a while! The reas🌄n I say so is because "Amy" PUTS AWAY the "Chasing AMY" Comic when her G/F returns because "Amy" is so T💝UCHED by it ... And doesn't want to have two SEXplain how PERS😂NAL it is haha to her G/F who she has little to nothing in common with given her G/F's loud bored judgemental comments about weird Characters at the Comic-Con so she and "Amy" are clearly NOT comICpatible nor in love - Amen !!!! 💥💝👼💙🎁

I feel like that movie drew inspiration from this bigggggg time. But no flick compares. This ending is the definition of essential modern bittersweet visual art. Very real. The "oh just some guy I knew" line shows the emphasis on a guy she KNEW- no longer knows; that and it coinciding with the song start. Smiths magnum opus.
