One should be careful regarding the legality of the content created by algorithms like ChatGPT and image generators. Midjourney and others for example say, they are not liable for any issues appearing in the future. There is also no copyright on the work created here trough the AI. There have been also more and more critical voices regarding the datasets and how they scraped millions of data and informations from the net, without consent. How did a laywer put it, it's a legal minefield just waiting to be laid and stepped on. I would expect that sooner or later we will see a lot of stuff challanged in curt and lawmakers looking in to the issue. If the music industry serves as presedence then it could lead to some substantial changes and regulations here - the Ai algorithms regarding music are not even nearly as popular due to the music industry being very protective on the copyrighted material and not allowed to scrap everything so easily. As intereesting and great the potential of the technology is there are many legal and ethical concerns. And sooner or later those will have to be tackled.

While I completely understand how scary this is to many (duo to the competition or even the ethics of machines learning what we do and doing arguably better) I just can’t stop thinking about the positive sides.. Load up that episode and go to about the 19m30s mark, and listen to how the crew are talking to the computer, how they're asking it to do things to analyze this sample they took from the planet in the episode. Then pay attention to how the ships' computer responds when it can't answer something they ask of it. I almost fell off my chair when I realized it's almost the exact same conversation and prompt dynamic with ChatGPT right now! It would take me maybe 2 weeks to build an AI voice to text converter with my own mics as input which I already have partially implemented), and feed the text I speak to the ChatGPT API which I already have access to, and then use a text to voice output through a speaker in my apartment. I don't know if this will ever be possible, but imagine that in the future there are AI-generated VR games. That you'll basically be able to "step into" one of the ancient Egypt pictures for example. This would be so awesome, I think I won't be doing a lot of other things anymore...

@KDP-xm9yu

It's not a racial stereotype, it's a representation of culture. That's why the whole "racial stereotype" spiel is almost always spouted by White people towards every other ethnicity. It's because you have no culture and your ancestors chose conquest instead.

"Artists" have said that AI is good for nothing but overflowing social media with low effort spam, so I'm so glad you've been able to demonstrate your process of making this a cool looking narrative like this. For the past four months Ive only been following text to image AI, so its really interesting to see on how advanced ChatGPT is, and its got me excited with what other forms of existing media today could also pass through a workflow like this.
@AllAboutAI

thnx :) yeah exciting times ahead in this space
@Epsilonwick
Жыл бұрын
When did they say that?
@kmjgsdkmjgsd
Жыл бұрын
@@Epsilonwick Sorry if this is too much, I have many stronger grievences against anti-AI artists, but the TLDR is people dislike the future of their social media pages based on these new tools / trends. A community Ive been following had an AI debacle weeks ago, and people said stuff like they have no problem with SD in D&D or backgrounds, but if it’s somehow shown as public, they "definitely have reservations there". and also something about allowing AI art at the same level as human-made art is "flat out insulting" where users need to uplift and highlight the fan-art and artwork by actual artists, not a trained model that regurgitates images from a stolen art dataset. Their reasoning was since creativity comes not from an algorithm, but by people, and AI art can ruin the art industry and various communities, it was morally right to only curate non-AI art in as many communities as possible. A KZitem video where some guy went on a one hour rant had commenters going: "What I hate is that some people on the internet posting AI art pretend like it's hard. The whole point of AI art is to make it as easy as possible, you literally type what you want to see and wait. It's almost like google search" as well as "You don't need to be an artist to realise that the current landscape of algorithm-generated "art" is hurtful to people who's livelyhoods depend on their creative talents." and "I also hate how they tell everyone to their faces that their using it as a tool and then turn around and use it as a replacement. not only do they see art as entertainment and a spectacle to be consumed... but they also see it as product to be mass produced for the sake of consumption which goes the completely against art as a whole". I do not wish to see the end or the shunning of artists, but I also do not want the effort people take in training models, inpainting, img2img-ing, etc to be nullfied as some harmful internet niche. I am proud with what this young community has been able to create and share, especially the content creators here on KZitem and beyond, but I do not wish for enough misinformation to spread where we go down in history as the next Elon Musk stans or "crypto-bros"
@YISTECH
Жыл бұрын
@@kmjgsdkmjgsd thank you, and trust me, even if we did go down as so and so, it doesn't really matter. I'm no crypto bro, I just like bitcoin, plain and simple. That's it. I'm very progressive when it comes to technology. I for one welcome new tech. Now on the topic of Ai, I don't mind it at all. I see it as a tool. Artists and other people that flat out refuse to incorporate it into their workflow, are going to miss out big time. These things are inevitable. Push them away long enough, and they will eventually catch upto you in the long run.

One thing I noticed and it was a very big letdown is that Chatgpt has a limited 'memory' I was really getting into it, giving it a list of characters and their personalities, locations, procedures done at certain locations, just feeding it information to build up the fictional world. I thought it would retain all the info I fed it and then I could set up scenarios and have it tell a story while keeping in mind all the information I gave it. But then it began writing a story with new people who shouldn't even be in a certain location and even changing everything about characters I already created. At first I would ask it 'Who is Sarah?" and it would tell me basically what I wrote for her bio, but later on, I asked it the same question and it had no idea what I was talking about. :( What I like to do is first give it a list of characters, a short bio and info about the location. Then I will write a scenario and end it with 'Write a story about what happens next' which is fun, but I wish it would retain information so you could keep it going, like If I had two people start dating, the AI would remember that a few scenarios down.

It's a good start! I tried ChatGPT to help me with my new graphic novel script. Seems that we need to guide Chat GPT in order to add character conflict and the desired narrative pace. I only had decent results when I provided this AI with the theme, motifs, story arc structure, and ending. After doing so, it began to produce something that was... just fine. But it's great to rewrite dialogues with the right "flavor".

You can try stuff like " make the dialogue in the style of Bukowski " ( like in midjourney : in the style of " Picasso " ) but it's less good at the moment. Once I tried with Tolkien style, it was full of great description and fantasy stuff but when I asked the same with another author it gave me back the " Tolkien " one
