So what do you think of this cheap Monster Truck? Is their better options out there?
@Hamzamakesfunvideos

Well this is kinda expensive compared to others, I think there are kind of better ones of course many like the WLtoys A979b, Traxxas all RC Cars, all Arrma RC trucks, and also many cheaper ones.. Cheapest ones are like at Walmart, one is for only $9.97!!! 😀💪😎

Great video - but for £75 there are better options for sure. The Eachine brushless version of the same truck is only £35 currently. I’d be more tempted to look at the HS (HoSpeed) and HBX 1/18 offerings which are both brushless at that price point.

It looks very close to the WLToys 9x9 series. It's getting harder and harder to source parts. I noticed banggood has even been clearing out all of their parts for 9X9.

WOW YEAH EXACTLY THIS TRUCK IS PRETTY CHEAP, well kinda expensive for me haha!!! But it is still very fast like 40 km/h

This looks like it was off the HBX 16889 roughly, almost all of these 1/16 and 1/18 scale monster trucks/truggies are based off the 16889. The 16889, like what you would expect from HBX, has a mostly plastic drivetrain (but HBX's gears are well made and meshed, and strong), but you can upgrade to a full metal driveline. The car is VERY DURABLE! The 16889 is cheap too, on Banggood it hovers at around $70-$80, and of course, as we all know, it's fully hobby grade (I mean, come on, we don't talk about toy grade RCs here). The 16889 is hard to beat, because it basically has all you could ask form a little truck like it, and if you want it brushless, HBX makes a brushless version for just about a $100 I think (there's also the 16889 Pro which is the brushless version, but with better parts for ~$120)

Hmm. £75 ? You could get an exceptionally durable, brushless hbx 16889 or 90 for that and the oil shocks are a very cheap upgrade.

I have to agree its hard to beat the 16889 for value and durability!

Looks like a nice little in-between from toy grade to hobby grade, but the problem is that there's much better, cheaper options for kids, but for adults you can get a used hobby grade that's much better for not much more. So it's kinda filling an in-between niche that doesn't really exist.

Not bad ftx tracer is way better just put a ftx brushless motor in it and 16 tooth pinion gear now does 30ish mph with wheelies little beast

Hi mate, good video as always 👍yeah this would would definitely be a miss for me. what Also makes me lean more towards toy grade as well is if you can not buy replacement parts for the models, I try my hardest never to buy a model ground model if you can’t buy the spare parts for them, I do agree that this would make a very young kid happy and at that speed hopefully it would not break when they crash it.. But for that price although it’s reasonably cheap we would all expect a little bit more now compared to other Rc models, so there’s definitely better options out there, if this was around £50 though I think it would be well worth buying for a kid.. happy rcing mate👍

Cheers Marc yeah have to agree mate at this price point you the hbx 16889 , ftx tracer and a few others with parts readily available which would probably be the best option. Not a bad truck but not without its flaws. Cheers

I don't think 13mph is too bad for the size. My HBX 1/18 did that with stock battery. Just wish they wouldn't lie.

Definitely a starter car for a kid getting into the hobby. Easy upgrades (shocks, etc) without spending too much money. My son would have loved that a few years ago. His tastes and expectations have grown with age and experience though. The HBX16889 seems to be a much better option? 👍🏻
