To make this brooder box you can use a costco tote or any other medium to large size storage tote, cardboard, pine shavings or other bedding alternative, a small amount of chicken wire, a heat lamp or bulb, and chick waterers and feeders. It's so easy to set up, literally done in minutes and super cheap. I have found that one tote of this size will fit up to 5 chicks for 3ish weeks depending on their growth and development. After that I upgrade them to a larger costco tote and then eventuallly I put them in the coop in a contained fenced section once they no longer need the heat a brooder box provides. I've previously used metal puppy fencing to temporarily keep them.
Stay tuned for more updates on the chicks and I apologize for the audio at the ending. Still figuring out my new mic!
