I think it would be awesome to see your build process for a blowgun. I’m always amazed by your work .

Hehe! I love it! I have made thistle darts for years, true to the tiny drop of Cherokee blood that flows in my veins, and the truth is the grandkids are hard on them. They go in the creek, in the tall grass, down over the bank, and get run over in the driveway. That is a lot of thistle, and they don't sell it on Amazon. I don't think I would fire size them though. Granddaughter will finally get pink ones. I don't know why I never considered it. I also turn trolls on the lathe, and I have tons of this stuff around to make beards for them! Thank you!

Is there any chance you could show us how you make the plug darts out of a cornstalk? That sounds interesting.

One can actually use cotton in the same way one uses thistle, tie it on using twine and roll it onto the shaft. It's really cool and I do it myself.

I really appreciate your channel with all the historical topics. I`d like to see the manufacturing of a wooden blowgun. How much is the diameter of the hole? Greetings from Germany.

If you don't have cane, you can half-route two pieces of wood to about an 8 mm radius, and glue the two halves together. The bore will then be 16 mm which is about right. It is not critical as long as it is consistent along the length. If you have cane or bamboo you can burn the nodes out to make a tube. That of course is old school. You have to spend some time on it and heat straighten it and work hard on the inner finish.

Mr. Silverhorn....buy a roll of grosgrain ribbon in the appropriate color and width.... cut into approximately 1ft length. Cut off one selvage, and strip off the length wise strands until you reach the opposite selvage. Glue one end to the butt of the dart, then spiral as you do with thistle down and string.

The Haudenosaunee used blowguns. Did they adopt their use much later?...In the Southeast they go back a long ways, I think.

Yes, the way I understand it from our stories is that blowguns came from the south. Cherokee and creek for Shawnee folks, and I imagine trade to the far south had an influence as well

Wow, just wow of a channel!!!! Would you be so kind as to talk about your hunting clothes, if you use any particular natural way to take scent out from them, if you hunt from natural blinds, tree stands, how close you usually gey to big game animals to harvest them and that kind of stuff, please?

Yeah absolutely! I think my next video may be about going hunting, so clothes will be an important part of that!
