Good idea. I have a couple for you. First, instead of removing the stop at the end of the bar to facilitate removal, why not make the pads removable? Rather than chiseling a rectangular hole, simply make the hole a slot. Should the pads get damaged or not be needed, they can easily slip off for replacement or for access to bare clamp. Should one want that as a permanent install, why not epoxy the affected sides together? Your idea is still good, though. Good enough for me to try! Thank you for sharing.

Nice idea. Thank you for demonstrating it well. We have many clamps at work that are missing the round end that swivels. I’ll use your idea with some scrap metal strapping to repair the clamps.

This is not my idea. It was inspired by this video. kzitem.info/news/bejne/laVmqWlskp6SYJg > I’ll use your idea with some scrap metal strapping to repair the clamps. That's cool!
