My brother! Sterling ST151 hands down best $70 condenser mic! Had the snowball first for over a year, got the ST151 and they’re completely different! Look into it for sure

$70 is an upmark from after logitech took over the blue mics. Should be able to find it for $40. Or very cheap used. They're also extremely common finds at goodwill.

The snowball is an extremely outdated USB mic and the $30 upmark is crazy. It was good back in the day when most people had low quality headsets or mics and it was a natural plug and play upgrade to stand out. Now there's no reason to get it unless you don't have a mic at all.

@@SadieThornewood I think comments are bugged since I've tried to reply 3 seperate times but Ampligame AM8, Samson Q2U and ATR2005/2100 would be my top picks, because they are USB/XLR hybrid mics, which means there's little entry cost while still receiving a mic that can be used in a professional setup with an audio interface and the like. You can just plug and play with USB or use the XLR functionality. The FiFine mic usually has a coupon code you can use and it often sells for under $50. FiFineMic15 (and also one from obscure mics that I'd need to look up to get) Q2U has gone as low as $30 but it's still a good buy if it's the same or lower than the snowball. Comes with good accessories. You can buy any of these mics or the snowball used for a cheap price, and since mics are pretty durable and resilient, that may be preferred. Some variants of the snowball can be found for $39.99. Hope that helps.

Doesn't seem like it was being used correctly anyway. He somehow had less room reverb when he moved it farther away than when it was closer. That doesn't make much sense.

Okay, I had the snowball way back when it used USB type B, yeah, tremendously aids. Honestly it wasn’t bad for the price at the time, but in todays world, you can save $80 more and buy the Elgato Wave 3, which is a USB C Mic that also has software and is also better sounding. Definitely more worth it if you’re trying to get a good, standalone mic.
