Great comparison man! I use a Big Muff Rams head currently but i was actually liking the Mooer. I don't mind getting a cheaper pedal for ones that I'm not stomping on constantly just for the construction aspect. Appreciate showing love to both humbuckers and single coils. Solid work! Thanks!

Could not tell the difference here at all. I have a couple of Mooer pedals; their RAT clone (Black Secret) is on my live board, and I actually did a recording with it just the other day, it does the job perfectly. Also got a Fuzz Face (Blue Faze) clone. That one is weird, it's super fuzzy, has a great sound, but has absolutely no head room. Great for recording but no good for live if you want to get any sort of volume boost, But for the money, you just can't complain.

So if you want to go cheaper the Rowin Lef-606 is a rebranded Triangle Buff. Got mine round the $30 aussie mark.

I've got the Fire Cream V02 Lef-611 . What kind of Muff is it?

Hey Jason, great comparison as always. I'm not surprised you found the Elk sustainar different. My understanding is that it was an attempted Japanese clone of the EH triangle & ended up sounding different. And as with any of the muff variants users will have their preferences. It's famously used by Wata in the Japanese band Boris. She can create an enormous wall of 'noise'. Cheers. 🎸🎸🎸 .

Apparently there are around 8-15 known variations of the original big muff. I recon they just used whatever parts they had at the time.

@@JasonAyalaSpare More than likely....and it adds to the mystique of the pedal. 🤣

I just don’t like fuzz. Ive been playing guitar almost 30 years. And everytime i try fuzz, it sounds broken. I love amp distortion. I never use anything dirtier than an overdrive as a pedal

I can respect that. I'm not much of a fuzz user either, but it does sometimes provide a different sonic texture.

I give those cheap things maybe 2-3 years and they’re in the bin. Sorry EHX is so $ down there.

Even if they'd sound identical, sometimes you want something with pedigree and are willing to pay for that.

I'd agree, that's why I have a lot of Boss pedals that Behringer and other brands make cheaper clones of.

I did the opposite. I started with 15 cheap pedals. Ive replaced them all with 200$ pedals over time. Only one i got left is my cheapo klon
