Hi I bought 4 like those and after top balancing and build as 4s battery tested with victron shunt capacity was 125 ah , seller just ignored me with complain . Advert as 200 ah brand new 🤬

Bought 16 like those from a well-rated seller on Ali: almost all of them average 185-188Ah, but i have one (who was bloated) at 168Ah, so my 16S setup can only output 8500Wh instead of the supposed 10240Wh. I wish i had bought 4 more: my 16S would have been optimum and would then have build a 12V 4S with the 4 lesser capacity cells. Thank you sir.

I asked for a 25% refund for the cells I got that failed to meet capacity spec, and settled for a 20% refund during arbitration. I was satisfied, seller got to keep most of their money, and no wasted shipping cost.

i bought 32 of these cells a few months ago via Alibaba. most tested between 158-165ah. 3 tested 175ah. 2 were extreme bulged, 1 at 0,2v and bulged at rechange. absolute trash. after weeks of disputes i was able to get 50,- back. cells listed as grade A, new, unused etc. seller even told me they test great. yeah the IR value (even that one was higher then listed but ok). Nightmare of an experience.

That sounds like a very unpleasant experience. We were fortunate in that the seller didn't update our order with the shipping info on time and Aliexpress auto refunded us because they missed the shipping date.

How do you get your batteries to stay at 3.6 charged? The voltage and mine starts to drop after this and settles at around 3.4

@@andysutils Actually, they ship around 3.29 +/- 0.015 to meet export safety regulations. But settle quiclky around 3.325V in normal operation which is their typical behavior after cycling through full charge of 3.45V down to 3.15V acoording to your BMS setting parameters that allows a 20-80% charge cycle to prolong their life cycle expectation. At those levels easily reached by all MPPTt offgrid installations, it is not unsusual to get around 0.015V - 0.035 V deviation between all 16 cells in a 48V setup. That's what I get consistently from my 50A Epever MPPT charger. I have two 16S packs of 100Ah and 280Ah in parallel with different version of the Ant BMS. Both of them respond fairly the same. I draw power from the P- of the 100Ah pack made of used 2.3Ah cylindrical cells from A123 that were salvage from Hybrid buses. They're arranged in 16S40P. This pack discharge more amps from my KRXNY 2000W pure sine wave inverter powering my induction cooking plate, fridges and freezers... But it recovers quite fast too since it's smaller in capacity. While its big brother, the 280 EVE stays mostly balanced because it pump a fraction of the current and helps the MPPT charger refuelling the smaller pack faster during idle times. I attached a 3000W APC UPS to it when I need to power the microwaves or more substantial loads. I saw some "too good to be true" deals on Ali Express for bundle of cells and I am tempted to go for it, gradually since I have the time and resources to evaluate them thoroughly. Price wise, if you receive them, it's worth it. Get a 16 pack and and 8 pack of the same highest Ah they offer. Then just sort out the "bad" cells making a good pack of 16S and 2 other packs of 4 with the remaining weaker cells as close in Ah to each others to be used for milder requirements. That's pretty much what I did with the recycled A123 cells. To be honnest they perform as well as the new EVE. It's the inverter that I'm worried about because its fan gets quite loud when the mosfets hit their threshold temperature. That's why I collected a buch of those 3KW rack UPS. Literally I hacked them down to half their size since I'm using my own battery pack. They were a really nice deal 3 of them for $80 only! Even ALi Express can't beat that. Nowadays, I'm casually pulling less than 2KW a day from the grid. But I don't mind for now. I consider the grid as a backup though in time I will eventual terminate their service. I really keep it alive for my wife because a lot of the operation is still manual and she wouldn't be able to figure out what to do whenever a breaker tripps. She'd go crazy on me! :)))

Exactly the same for me... bought 16pcs and capacity is between 135-150Ah. I won the dispute but since lithium cells are concidered dangerous goods they cannot be sent back unless using a special shipping service agent that cost approx twice as much as the cells. Seller offered 50usd. I told him to f**k off... the cells are old and clearly been used... luckily i originally opted for approx 500Ah for my boat but choose to overshoot, so that is approx what I will get out from the listed 800Ah.

@@offgrid_power 1. They're not Winston Cells, the brand should be CALB. 2. CALB has 2 models of blue plastic shell LFP batteries, the standard capacity of them were 180Ah and 200Ah. 3. As I know, these cells went out of production many years ago, and there are no brand new cells in the market. So, they are used cells, which were disassembled from EVs/ESS modules. 4. When you are buying these cells, you have better ask the suppliers to grading cells (capacity test) before placing your order. Anyway, I don't think it's a good business, just for your reference.

I'm sorry to say but all the comments I read in this channel only proves the obvious. If the deal is too good to be true, then it's to be taken with a grain of salt. The people who got scammed asked for it. They're playing dumb, but knew what they where getting into and took a dive hoping for the best. They actually lucky the vendor actually send something... Or maybe not! as the credit card company would cancel the purchase and they would get a full refund for marchandise not received. The obvious "mistake" the buyer makes is to believe the spec of the ad. once you clicked on the link to the store. They offer many options that you have to scrutinize with a critical mind comparing the deal with what other vendors are offering. Everyday I receive tempting offers difficult to ignore: 16 cells of 280Ah for $675 for the lot. Wow!!! This is incredible and of course must be understood as NOT credible. Once I click on it, I see it links to my vendor Varicore whom i just bought 16 cells for around $1800. Hello people! It's too good to be true even when it comes from a vendor you previously trust. They try to entice you over Black Friday, but theirs falls on November 11 and discounts are not so steep as to knock $1000 of 16 cells. They'll jacked up the price to about $2000, give you a special discount of $300, that's adjust the sale price at about $1700 and with taxes added, you pay about $1950 which is the price I got for the previous batch I received in good terms. The adage still holds true: you get what you pay for. Any expectations beyond that is your own. You take the responsibility to fall into a trap. Dont be angry, just learn you lesson and become wiser shopper. All the KZitemrs told you the dirty cheap price for those EVE cell is $265 for a pack of 4 at 100Ah each cell. They're dealing day in day out with vendors from Alibaba and are giving you the tone to tune on to. Follow their footstep or be wild and go your own path but don't complain or hate the Chinese. Just buy US products at twice to three time the price and be happy. They're in fact pretty much like us. Believe me when I say we've done much worse to them than they've done to us. Respect & Regards - FG -
