Hope to see you get a yamaha wolverine one day. I had the exact same problem on my wolverine when i did the front, bent the hub and had to buy a new one and an axle. Lesson learned lol

Nice, I just started working on my old 2008 big bear 400 that has been sitting for 10+years. It's crazy how at first it all seems like a big mess but once I got in there, I realized it really only needs new calipers, carb, rear right axle, maybe some new wheels/tires and it's good to go. I thought this project was gonna take me forever or cost a ton of money but I got all the parts I need for about 140$. Figure I'll have it slapped back together in a week or so. fingers crossed lol.

Sounds awesome, man. I’m sure you know this already, so don’t let me insult your intelligence… My two cents: Do your best to clean the original carburetor as opposed to replacing with a knockoff carburetor. Definitely worth the time, seems like guys really struggle to get the aftermarket ones tuned just right. Let me know if I can help at all. Glad to hear another machine is in the process of being rescued. Best of luck and thanks for watching.

@@ripperlipper1016 man that is what I love about these Yamahas and Hondas. They just keep on working and if you maintain them you hardly ever have to replace anything other than regular wear items.

This is kinda funny, I noticed you jamming the gear shift down to get it in neutral to start, my Big Bear 400 I purchased in 2003, over 20 years ago now, just learned like two day's ago, it will start in gear while applying the hand brake!

That rear carrier tube is bent because someone used it to pull something instead of using the tow ball.

Quick question if you have time, i have a Big Bear 400 4v4 2007, just trying to find where the "neutral" wire plugs in because my neutral light at times is difficult to come on and i think that might be a connection issue.

I know yours is a 2007, but here’s a link that might help. Sorry for the delayed response. www.grizzlycentral.com/threads/big-bear-neutral-switch.64217/ Thanks for watching. Best of luck!
how do you do clean the red plastic? or your painting?

Cleaned it aggressively with a brush, some spots with a scotchbrite sponge. Then got it set in the sun and sprayed some SC1 New Bike In a Can spray and let it soak in. Then put it in the shade a put another good coat on. Amazing how much it restores the plastics.
