@@scottlowell493 the eigentakt class d amps are very nice but they aren’t used in $100 amps. I have an accuphase 480 integrated, revel 228be speakers, jbl fathom subs, a Rega planar 10, a 35k system. I use $300 in blue Jean cable and interconnects. My dealer let me audition expense cables, I noticed no audible difference. There are great values in audio: dacs, cables, headphones, phono cartridges, phono preamps,are some of those areas, I wish Randy would stick to those. Upgrading from a stock power cables no joke. I’ve upgrade all the power cables in my home to ones that are at least $1000. The biggest surprise was the one I bought my toaster. Once swapped out for the stock cable, the toast was toasted more evenly and had much more crunch. The taste increased and crummage was significantly reduced!

Also, there are only so many things to review, and once a reviewer recommends the Yamaha A-S801 most channels run out of content fast. There is only on question to ask? What cables you got in your wall? Obviously the cable itself can't have an effect unless it's worse and I would bet my junk consumer electronics cabling is speced to be better. Having recently watched Randy’s video on the AudioQuest power cables, I’ve been pondering a related dilemma. I recently acquired a brand new $1500 3D printer. Unfortunately, the provided power cable, while high quality, is a tad short for my setup. Curiously, the longer cable from my old $200 printer fits perfectly. Given the importance of power cable quality in audio systems, is it plausible that the older cable could harm the print quality of my brand new printer? Conversely, if I were to use the new cable on my old printer, could that improve its print quality, bringing it closer that of a $1500 printer? I plan to A B the cables at some point, but only after my new printer has been broken in properly for at least 600 hours. Eager to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
@scientificaudiophile
Жыл бұрын
The fact is that a generic cable on a 3D printer can cause 2D printing. Just like laser printers were known to print dot matrix quality when cheap cables were used. Don’t screw up your 3D printer, rule of thumb is your cable should cost at least 50% of your printer.
@js42925
Жыл бұрын
@@scientificaudiophile Now that I've done some controlled testing I want to share my VERY interesting results. First to ensure adequate break in I printed cable risers and acoustic resonators on repeat for over 600 hours. For my first test I compared the height of a cable riser printed with each cable. The cable riser printed with the low end cable did in fact measure slightly (0.12 mm) shorter than the riser printed with the higher end cable. It seems you are correct that cable quality can alter print geometry. This is apparently nothing new but really got me thinking. How else might the cable effect the properties of my prints? I then printed a set of cable risers using each power cable. I closed my eyes and had my wife place the different riser sets on the interconnects for each of my monoblocks. Listening to Bish in mono and alternating between channels, my left speaker was far more focused and analytical than the right. My wife also noticed a significant difference. Lo and behold, it turned out that the left channel risers were printed with the high end cable. My results suggest that cable choice could have implications far beyond what has been previously recognized. I've purchased new First Run power cables for each of my printers (and amps) which I hope will definitively solve this issue. Cheers!
