Bought the very same stove. I did the burn in my yard. All worked good. I have a 7 foot teepee tent, so I had to find a way to extend the chimney, found a foot section of metal pipe that is adjustable. taped with metal 3m tape. I had used a aluminum soda can with the top cut off and holes poked into to act like a spark arrestor and that rain woulndt come down the chinmey pipe. I went camping with this stove. It was great, the only thing that I found which might worry people is when it burning, at night the first few chimney pipes glow red. For some reason that troubled me, i worried the whole night about having a fire in my tent. Where im from is Arizona and when its camp weather, never used a wood tent stove. However realizing it was rather safe, from that point on I took it camping a number of times. Where I live now, it rain a lot, so having a wood stove in my tent I can cook full meals, keeping warm and comfortable, out of the rain. which having a larger tent to have comforts like a stove , a sitting area, a cot, making tent like a room having a RV batteries and a power inverter for operating electronics like my laptop for playing movies. Standing up in the tent, using a jug bathroom system.... made a perfect hot tent environment that could stay in for long periods of time for rain. Camping trips are nice when you have the right gear. But this wood stove is great, its cheap. I also have a shed which i made into a cabin, its 12 X 32 and this wood stove heats up that space just fine also, Made it an entirely livable space, seting up the shed with 12v electricity solar panels like an RV, could live rather comfortable in deep winter.

Amazon has a stainless stove pipe that you can buy in sections to extend your chimney. It’s a good little stove I wouldn’t worry to much about it just make sure you have your Corbinmoioxide detector

@@JDubbsadventure Well, i bought a 2 ft section at home depot and cut some off with tin snips, then rolled it up fitting it into one of the sections, then used metal 3M tape to hold together. it was a on the fly modification. But taking a soda can and cutting the top off, then making a series of holes, the can bottom served goof for not letting rain down the chimney and the holes were a good spark arrestor. I also have a hammock hot tent which the pipe stove came with are just fine in height, my spark arrester is perfect to keep sparks from exiting and falling back down on your tent. That is a huge worry when camping, the stove itself might not start a tent fire..but the falling embers might. If you are burning pine, the resin is sure to have sparks.

Nice preview. On the fixed chimney, does the female end drop down on the male end? Meaning could creosote leak out the fittings and down the pipe?
@JDubbsadventure
2 жыл бұрын
No sadly the fitting on the top of the stove is male then female and so on. In theory creosote could leak out Iv had this in 5 different trips burning some all day and one I only burned at night so far no creosote leaking down. My buddy mountaineer Outdoors said he has this stove and first time out he couldn’t get the pipes apart. Mine has an incredibly tight fit on the pipe though so maybe they fixed that

Do not buy that stove. It looks ok when you use it out side or door open but smoke leaks everywhere. At end of day, you have to leave tent door open all the time. I tried to modify a few times and gave up.
@JDubbsadventure
2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had any problems with the stove. I have a few different stoves some very expensive form reputable companies. They all smoke when you open the door but I haven’t had any leak smoke except for one night I had the flu pipe got hit by a bird or bat and it bent the pipe to 90° but that’s not the stoves fault

Never burn pine or cedar in ur wood stoves. The sap will ruin it
@JDubbsadventure
Жыл бұрын
It may discolor it but ruin might be a little far. I will tell you after 2 days of burning you should clean the pipe out. Without the pipe being insulated it cools fast and builds up a lot of creosote.
