What is your favorite Beekeeping invention you have seen?

I'm using Bee Smart top cover, insulated inner cover, bottom board and feeder. Like not having to paint. So far I'm happy with all their products. Feeder took a little getting used to due to it's size, but holds so much more than a Jar. Will be buying more Bee Smart equipment as needed.

Looks like your bees are living the high life with their fancy Bee Smart equipment! No painting and a bigger feeder, what more could they ask for? I was really impressed with his products as well. I will be doing some videos on each of those individual pieces soon, so stay tuned! @DonCoe757

Met Cliff at the Expo. I use the Insulated Inner Covers and they work very well. I got the blue feeder but have not used it yet. Oh, I use the dead bee scraper too.

So no inventions here then ? Just items we all use every day in one capacity or another but now molded with plastic to make them a product..... nah

Well, you know what they say - sometimes it's the little things that bring us the most joy, even if they're made of plastic! I think if you look at some of the features of the products you will see there are a ton of quality-of-life additions that are of great value for the hobbyist beekeeper.

@@BackBeeBrokenBeekeepingnothing wrong with making things out of plastic. Just don’t promote the “new innovation” when other suppliers have been seen the same type of products for over a decade. A cheaper copy is still a copy

@@tonysicily2687 I would have to see the actual products you say they are copying.... If there is enough difference between the original and the new product if would be considered incremental innovation. I think the legal qualification to avoid patent violations is 10% different... not positive on that.

You are correct, the average mouse can apparently jump 13 inches. However this system of products has an integrated mouse guard included with it.

Umm, the first product… The feeder I use allows me to feed directly into the good nest. Purchased it 5 years ago, how can they legally state theirs is “the only feeder that allow direct feeding…” Second product is also a rip off of an existing product, except the one I use is made of metal not plastic. Lots of these “new innovative” products are just rip offs Not impressed with fraudulent claims

As to the justification for the statement you find issue with. You would have to ask the inventor. As to the second product, which I am assuming you are speaking about is the Pry Point System... Could you link the product because I tried searching for similar products and could not find any. While it's understandable that similarities between inventions can raise questions about originality, labeling something as a "rip off" oversimplifies the complexity of innovation and ignores several important factors. Firstly, innovation often builds upon existing ideas and technologies. Rarely does a completely novel concept emerge out of thin air. Many breakthroughs are the result of incremental improvements or adaptations to existing solutions. In this light, what may seem like a "rip off" could actually be an iteration or evolution of a previous idea. Secondly, the context in which an invention is created matters significantly. Different inventors may approach similar problems from different angles, drawing upon their unique perspectives, expertise, and available resources. Consequently, even if two inventions appear similar on the surface, the processes and insights behind them could be distinct. Thirdly, the timing of inventions can be crucial. Just because something similar already existed doesn't necessarily mean the inventor had knowledge of it. Parallel development is a common phenomenon in the world of innovation, where multiple individuals or teams independently come up with similar solutions to a problem. So while I understand you seeing the similarities as copying something already existing, this product has to be different enough to pass the scrutiny of the legality of creating a product that does not infringe upon an existing legally protected product.

So why waste the time too cut handles/grips if u using the ergonomic handles.. kinda feels like a waste of time
@BackBeeBrokenBeekeeping

Hey @Chillibeanz74, the boxes come from most companies with the cut handles/grips already done. The ergonomic handles are added for those that find them needed or useful. So technically there is no wasted time as you get the built in handles no matter where you order them from. Now if you were making your own equipment, I agree, you should pick one or the other.
