I run two felt wipers on mine, one on each side. The hard line has a selinoid valve, needle valve and sight glass on each side and a main inline filter just below the tank. I hardly use any diesel and the selinoid valves turn on and off with the clutch. Works great and have using it for many years. The felt needs to be pressed up against the blade and held in place with a squeeze plate held in place with a 1/4" screw. Look at Cooks saw set up.

Interesting. Like the idea of a spring loaded top plate pressing down on the felt block. Also like the idea of a felt wiper for the guide roller.

I have a 1620. Has your friend Gary ever modified the sweeps or add hydraulics? Or have any thoughts?

No, there's a gap under it. It's not bad at all. I'll show it in an upcoming video.

Good video and job. I hope to put wipers on mine. Water and soap are no match for white pine. Looking forward to your blade testing. Take care be safe and well.

I hope your felt lasts a while.. Looks like the set in the blade would eat it quick...

It's looking great and working well for months. One prototype model has around 400+ hrs on it so far no issues.
