Hi Steve, I hope your doing well. A great review and a few things to point out on this instrument. When I looked at this, it doesn't look as big as a traditional "single 0" parlor guitar, it the same size as my Guitarlele's (Gutalele/Guilele). I looked on Amazon page and even Donner the manufacturer lists it as a: "30 inch Travel Guitar Guitarlele". One tip, if someone buys this use the lightest gauge acoustic strings you can get like 9 gauge. D'Addario makes them (EZ890 9-45 ) ya gotta keep the tension low as possible off that bridge, trust me on that. The other tip, is it may also be really cool to try some of the nylon strings with the ball-end on this instrument, Ernie ball makes those (Ernesto Palla ball end). It's a cool instrument because of it's size.. I would buy and swap out the bridge pins with some made from bone and get a bit more sustain. Hey, I was up your way last month, but more towards S.E. New England around my old stomping grounds when I used to play the club circuits around that way.. Again, that was back in "day" (the cape and other places). I also traveled around Tri-State area and then back down south.. long drive but the Fam' enjoyed it. Have a great week. - Tom

Hi Tom. I'm curious about the suggestion to try nylon strings instead. Would nylon mean a lot less tension on the guitar compared to even the lightest of steel? And also the suggestion on changing the bridge pins, thoughts on wooden ones? Thanks!

Hi Marleen, you name looks familiar 🤔 interesting. But yes, nylon strings like I mentioned would be less tension on the neck. Remember because the tension is less, you "may" need to raise the saddle in the bridge or truss rod adjustment, if there is a truss rod. Regarding your other question about the bridge pins, "sometimes" wood bridge pins create a darker tone. Synthetic or real bone bridge pins can be brighter tone, and greater sustain. I play and use 15 instruments, the acoustic string instruments like acoustic guitar ukulele and ukulele hybrids I upgrade, and do maintenance on all of them. I use them to write and record instrumental commercially licensed music under performance rights organization BMI Inc. as a songwriter/composer. Have a great upcoming week. -MrTom

Is hot outside so we get more SFB inside. Ive been a bit unexcited about guitar lately so I bought a Yamaha THR30II wireless, found one for $400 mint with a G10 relay included. Hoping itll spark some creativeness on these sweaty afternoons. Ive still yet to own an acoustic, you got more in that swag bag then I got in Donnors $50 mystery box last year....🙂

I’ve been wanting a few small guitars like this for ages! both acoustic and electric. Really like the Martin 5-18 but you can’t really get them where I stay. Is there any guitars that are of a similar proportion of the Martin 5-18? Think they get called “Terz” guitars. Would even get a kit if I could find one.
