Use ghee instead of butter! Less water content means it stays crisp longer and has more of a theater taste

We used to make this all the time as kids when we wanted popcorn and dad was busy. Dad was the one we all went to when we wanted popcorn, but when he got busy with work, he taught us how to make it this way, and we all had popcorn for days.

so if you want to make them on the stove put around 2tbsp oil in a pot,1 tbsp of salt and 4tbsp of kernel pops. cover the lid and cook until they stop popping,turn the flame off and let them rest for around 5 minutes and enjoy (the flame should be high and there's no need to warmen the oil)

My dad set fire to a paper bag he used in our microwave back in the 70s when someone told him he could do this. The popcorn kernels set the bag on fire. I still have the microwave and it still has scorch marks on the top of the oven.

Beware - make sure you stand by the microwave and watch it spin. I did this many times years ago untillll one day I didn’t realize it was stuck and not spinning normally inside. It got too hot on one side and caught on fire. Pretty massive and scary kitchen fire. Careful!!!!!

Kitchen fires are no joke cause a lot of times when they happen oil is involved which makes it a lot harder and more dangerous to extinguish than normal fires; throwing water on a grease fire will cause it to flare up and spray hot oil everywhere. The only way to effectively put them out is to use a fiberglass fire blanket or wet a towel that's large enough to fully cover the fire till it's really saturated but not dripping wet and throw it over the fire. You won't be laughing if this happened to you that's for sure.

U can use flour t put out a fire I use t put a canister of old flour near stove just f that Don't put butter in bag BUY a hot-air popper they are cheap I wouldn't put popcorn in paper bag n put in microwave DANGEROUS 😮

You don't need oil or butter. Just throw those kernels into a clean, paper bag, fold it over and pop it. Afterwards add your butters, oils, seasonings or whatever..... 😊

I used to do this, but I recently purchased a very inexpensive ($10), silicone microwave popcorn popper, and that works even better! My son and dil, liked my popcorn so much, I’m ordering them one too!😉 Btw, I would also recommend getting some flavacol popcorn seasoning, I believe it is what lots of theatres use…

You can do it without the butter too and it works just as well and is not oily. It’s my favorite way to make popcorn bc it’s so plain you can add anything onto it and it’ll take on any flavor, or eating it plain is good too!
