I am so mad trainers made us quit 25+ years ago because they said it was too hard! We see now it was just a lie to keep only young girls in the gym and to weed out older gymnasts so the younger ones may have a chance! Now, I am all for the young ones getting their chance. That said, the cost to train gymnasts is sky high, making it rational for them to stay longer to get the optimal return on their investment!

@@ChellsieMemmel23 Could you explain to your viewers how a gym can get insurance for adults over the age of 25yo or older! I was told back in the day that my gym couldn't insure me! Is it possible to buy private insurance?! I really want to go back to the gym now! I even got goals: kip to giant swing on bars, front handspring off of vault, roundoff back handspring on floor and cartwheel on beam! I SWEAR I'll do my conditioning and warmup before approaching any apparatus! Love, an adoring fan!!!

I would cry of legit happiness if you made the olympic team. Honestly, I've always believed the only reason women don't compete in gymnastics into their late twenties and thirties is due to the abuse coaches put on the girls' teenage bodies. They overwork the girls and underfeed them, so injuries don't heal well. If Chellsie succeeds, it'll mean gymnastics longevity is a thing and could revolutionize how we treat women in the sport.

Agreed as a gymnast myself. My coach told me I was "fine" and had me keep going without me ever seeing a medical professional. Years later, I learned I had a broken foot with the bone displaced AND a herniated disc at L5-S1 touching my siatic nerve. I'm lucky to be walking considering I was training and tumbling through tears with that injury because coach said it was "fine". My body would be capable of SO much more if we had been given proper spotting to prevent more injuries and been seen when we got injured so the injury wasn't made worse.

Andy's face "annnnnnnd...post!" kills me. I just love, love, love all the gentle positive reinforcement and no one pushing Chellsie (or Dea) to do more that what they are ready for, they dictate what their body can do on any given day. The energy of the gym is always a nuturing place. It makes my heart happy. ALSO, it's INCREDIBLE what Chellsie is doing on the bars at this stage...like I am in awe. This is so inspiring, that with every new video you would think by now I would stop being amazed (and stop tearing up) but nope.

I may not know the names of each skill and how much they add to a score and level of difficulty, but I see the greatness in you that has always blown those of us watching away emerging and the fact that you are stronger and capable of doing even more complex skills is thrilling to watch. Younger gymnasts, those who may be in their late teens, really probably can't comprehend the amount of fear that needs to be overcome when making a comeback / return to the sport after several years off. Shaun Johnson described it best, how as a 14, 15 year old, she had no real fear - she had been doing increasingly difficult skills for over a decade, so was used to it. But behind older, she looks back, sees what she rid, and feels the fear now, after all these years. Heck, even doing a cartwheel on the beam, much less a front flip (blind landing ) takes a lot of courage

I think her bars routine will be: toe on 1/1+maloney+tkatchev +0.3 Hindorff+pak+maloney half +0.2 jam+ double front +0.1 D score: 6.1

Excellent guess, that is the construction I had in mind.

Doesn’t the hindorf+pak+Maonley half give her 0.4 in bonus? Since connected flight elements get 0.2 in bonus

@@katk5462 Correct, the D score would be 6.3 and I'm sure Chellsie knows that as a judge : )

@@katk5462 yes, but I didn't count the connection between the pak and the maloney half just because firstly I guess she needs to be consistent on the maloney half, then eventually upgrade and connect the two elements

That’s what I put together in my head too! I’m trying to come up with a beam routine too but she has so many skills to choose from it’s hard to decide.
