I've had to add water to relaxer a few times to lessen it's strength on fine hair. Using powder lightener on relaxed hair is like begging for a chemical haircut 😂

Have you tried moving into a Guanadine or Calcium Hydroxide relaxer rather than adding water? Whenever we alter the product by adding things the manufacturer did not intend, we run the risk of causing unintended chemical reactions.

@@TheIntentionalClassroom it actually was a guanidine relaxer and I contacted the company via email before doing so. They told me to use deionized or distilled water since tap and other types of bottled water usually have minerals or other things added to it.

Then what does relaxer's nutralizer does?

The neutralizer of a relaxer simply restores the pH. We use neutralizing or normalizing shampoo. After a relaxer, the hair is fragile, as we have just put a pH of 13-14 on the hair. To allow rehardening of the hair, we must balance out the pH with neutralizing shampoos.

Great informative video❤️☺️ Can Olaplex help create that disulfide bond again in this case? 🤔

Its not exactly that it builds a new disulfide bond. It simply distracts the sulfur from attaching to other molecules, which lead to deterioration of the hair. From what I understand, it kinda keeps them occupied. Lol. Weird way to describe it I know. I recently did do a video on lighteners that touched on Olaplex and how it works.
