I remember watching Michael Douglas when I was a kid. Surprised to enjoy him as much now as I did then. Rarely do you see a tv host that is as welcoming and attentive to his guests while remaining engaged and entertaining his audience.

This episode brings back a lot of memories for me . It was aired less than a month before my dad passed away March 24th , 79 . I was only 10 years old . I love Cher and that she brought her kids on the show . I loved it when Mike Douglas sang an Elvis song , bc I love Elvis Presley !! I love that he had Charles Swartz on , bc I loved watching Charlie Brown when I was growing up. Then I grew up and married a Charlie Brown . lol !! We've been married for 30 years . I love that Mr. Roger was on here too . I loved to watch his t.v. show too when I was a little girl . Mike asked him a great question, what makes children scared ? My husband and I have often wondered , how does a baby know to be scared ? Children I can understand, but I still don't know the answer for babies . My grandfather use to say , the reason children loved to watch Mr. Rogers so much was , bc he had such a soft tone in his voice . That's true ! Children will respond to you better if you are a little more calm and patient enough with them . Absolutely loved this episode....!! Thanks so much for it !! ❤

This is an awesome episode. With Charles M. Schulz. 💕 I realized I have never seen him, only seen his signature below the Peanuts comics. He was such a gentleman and looked totally different from how I imagined him to look. 😄 And I love how slow paced this show is. Guests have actually time to talk even with commercial breaks in it and they stay seated and listen to the other ones that are introduced one after another. Sometimes they just say nothing for a few seconds 😄everyone actually takes their time for the guests. Although the host already interrupts some of them rudely like they do it today. I miss these much slower 70s. The 80s already started to get faster with MTV coming in and all that super short cut clips they did. I just walked over to my DVD drawer (yes, I am that old) and took out our Peanuts Christmas DVD to watch it in a few weeks on a cozy winter day 🥰 Along with the Muppets Christmas story. Reminds me of my childhood.

The length of talk shows in those days was 90 minutes, an hour and a half. This allowed for much more intimate conversation and ultimately better interviews where the audience gets to know the subject more.
