"Cheraw Dance" - It's A Mizo traditional dance which represent most enchanting form of Mizoram Culture which originate about 1st Century AD.The format of the dance is consisiting of mostly six to eight people holding a pairs of bamboo staves on another horizontally placed bamboo at the ground. The male performers then clap the bamboos rhythmically while groups of female in an intricate steps between the beating bamboos.Its a dance which is Inspired By nature as some of this dance expressions resemble the swaying of trees some others indicate the flying of birds as well as the harvesting of ripe paddy.These steps u can saw in this video clearly.(This video has been shot during Chapchar Kut 2019) ©#nishvids
