The Chesapeake Carousel at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Built in 1905 by Dentzel, The Chesapeake Carousel came from the now closed Chesapeake Beach Park (1972), it was saved by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in 1974 and moved to Watkins Regional Park where it opened in 1977, not that far from Six Flags America, for anyone looking to something else in the area of SFA! For the number of times I've been to Six Flags and the fact my friend for nearly 30 years lives down the street from Watkins Park, I had no idea it was even there! It wasn't until last summer when I started really looking for more 'off the beaten path' one-off rides that I came across it to my shock and amusement.
