Good luck to you. I do go down some rabbit holes. Lose a game and can’t get out of the spiral.

It’s a tough spot to be in mentally. I feel like I lost weeks of progress in two days

Hey man, just wanna let you know that it’s okay to loose and to tilt. I would not be able to put into words the amount of elo iv lost trying to make up for my bad play in a single day. I totally get it, I hate loosing as well. From my experience you have to stop looking at the elo and just enjoy the game, when you start to tilt, start to care a little bit less. Loosing at chess is the most painful experience especially when knowing you are getting into your head and underperforming. I like to do other chess related things and not play games when im having bad days (puzzles, studying openings etc.). My best tip is stop caring so much and just have fun! ( trust me I know how hard that can be but chess is all about psychologie and being in the right mind state). Hope the looses arnt getting to you to much.

Thanks! Sometimes I feel pressure due to uploading my progress online. I don’t want to let you guys down. But your advice is wise, and it’s something I’m trying to take to heart

Tilting really sucks. I went on a tilt recently and lost 50 rating points in 2 sessions. Better keep the 2-rapid games/day rule up, otherwise the bleeding never stops.

Yup. I find that some days I just don’t have it. I think it’s easy to forget that outside factors, like mental state and work stress can affect our play in ways that aren’t obvious. Limiting games helps avoid huge losses on those days.

@BackwardPawn for me, I notice there are some triggers to tilt. If I lose a winning position due to a blunder or poor time management, I get upset, and then things go downhill. Another thing is poor sleep or being too tired.
