Hi All, My name is Lee Hagerty and I am the Simulation Analyst who runs the skills lab where the video was filmed. Yes, the mannequin is the Laerdal 3G SIMMAN. The skin tissue Jess cut into is a design of mine using Dragon Skin, (a silicone rubber mixture, and a pink silicone dye) and a memory foam mattress. I would spread the Dragon Skin onto the memory foam previously cut. Takes a few hours to dry, and you are ready to go. I am hoping to write a blog about the insane amount of training models one can make with this product. I have cut my cost on training models more than I could have ever imagined.

Thanks for the info! I see several types of dragon skin: 10, 30, and FX pro. Do you have a preference for which seems to work best for this?

Lee: where should I look for your blog post? I'm very interested, having read about using Dragon Skin as simulated skin. I teach procedures to residents and this seems like it would save money and work well.

Hey Tim, Working on one. We are wanting to video each trainer I have made, and get it out there. I will hopefully have something in the works next week or 2. I have about 7 different training models with successful outcomes. Chest models( as seen here), C-section bellies, Episiotomy trainers, suture blocks, abscess blocks, paracentesis, and a poorly done thoracentisis. You can get Dragon Skin as cheap as 30 bucks, and a 3 inch memory foam top mattress for less than 50 on amazon. It will last you for hundreds of models. Durability: My suture blocks have had 200 learners on them without tearing or worn areas of use. Thanks for the interests. LeeH

Hi Lee, Did you manage to blog about your models? It's very interesting stuff. Cheers, J
