The Chestnut-bellied Hummingbird (Saucerottia castaneiventris) is a micro-endemic species found in north-central Colombia, particularly in dry parts of the Magdalena Valley. Recent fieldwork has helped us learn more about this little-known bird, but it still remains uncommon in some areas with unknown seasonal movements. This hummingbird has a shiny, reddish-bronze upper body, a green throat, and a chest with a rufous tail and underparts. IUCN status - Near Threatened
