Looks fantastic! Great job, buddy. Because of your info, I added boron to our persimmon trees this spring, and the effects have been amazing. So much fruit on them already! Our chestnut trees are too young for boron treatment, I think. They struggled this summer, and really didn’t put on the growth that I had hoped for. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!

You're very welcome. Have you put any fertilizer on your trees? I am referring to p,n,k.

@@MonsterBucks1451This spring, I put 3/4 cup of 13-13-13 around each of the 5 chestnuts that are in the ground (I have another 48 in pots that will be planted at the property this November). I have not added anything to the 100s of persimmon trees, other than the boron. We also planted 6 apple trees last November, and they didn't show the growth we had hoped for. We had a very dry summer. All of our food plots are hurting. I have done soil samples, but it was just for the macros. I am going to different soil samples this fall, and those will include the micro levels.

@@OurNewLand I would start trying to add more fertilizer. It could be a case that 13-13-13 is not strong enough and may required additional fertilizer. On my trees I used 12-24-24 but that's just my soil. I would try adding more again and see if any change happens to them. If it does, then I would try a stronger fertilizer closer to what I would use. I used to keep adding another around about every 8 to 10 weeks apart then mine took off. Hopefully that will get them going.

Great video and amazing results. I'm going to try boron next year. Did you plant clover in the orchard for some extra food?

I did add some red top clover there and will expand it next year to cover the whole orchard.

Boron? Do tell me more. I have about nine chestnut trees and they could use some help. Thank you .

Boron is a reproduction booster and root booster. If the boron test is low in your soil, then production can take extra years to happen, and you typically get far less return compared to what the tree really can do once Boron levels are adequate. Boron also helps water intake and nutrients for all plants. Also be careful NEVER put out too much of it, you can kill everything has it becomes toxic to plants if levels are too high.

I am in Western Maryland 14 miles East of Cumberland I think boron could benefit my trees. To be on the safe side a soil test would be a good thing. As a side note my persimmon trees are rockin'.

Absolutely on the soil testing! I'm just letting you know I never put out more than 3 pounds per acer. I have tried 4 pounds, and it started killing plants off. So 3 is my limit.

How much boron do you use for each tree ? When do u add it. I have over 40 trees and no nuts yet. So some of them are atleast 8 or 9 years old.

You going to start any more trees from those seeds? I was anted to get into a rotation of new trees every year but I hit a wall with propagation, space and desire. I’ll probably start again one day but for now I’m burnt out on planting trees.

I am thinking about it. I have got more space by the barn for trees.

Wonderful. Are these from fruit or grafted? How long does it take until the first flowering when you plant from fruit. Well done

They are from fruit. Once they hit 3 years old, you have a small chance to see nuts. I gotten most of them to start producing at 7 years old. The trees in the video are 8 to 15 years old.
