So while the peak charging isn't that great actual time spent at the charger isn't significantly different than a Kia E Niro. Which has a higher Peak rate but the charging curve isn't as good. I just priced out a Model 3 RWD in Canada. With red paint, it came to $64,580. My local Chevy dealer reserved an EUV Premium for me (no sun roof or Super Cruise) for $45,500. Federal and provincial rebates drop the price of the EUV by $8,000, which is not available for the Tesla. Model 3 is a better car, but as a second EV, I can save $27,000 by going with the EUV. I think this is a solid commuter option, but I think that GM will need to sell it even cheaper in order to make it competitive, especially if Tesla also gets their tax incentives back. The pricing is too close to Model 3. One of the main reasons I bought my 2019 Bolt, aside from the assurance that it was build by a company with a proven track record, an established service network, and one who supports the Right to Repair, was that i was able to get a fully loaded Premier model for $10k less than a base model, standard range Model 3. This of course meant that I bought it for substantially less than MSRP, and this was after the tax incentives had already begun to drop for Chevy, so that discount was almost completely in the form of manufacturer and dealer discounts. The potential market for inexpensive, long range EVs is huge, especially outside of the US, and it is a market with very little availability, so I think if GM can get the real world price of the Bolt into the low $20s and the EUV into the mid $20s, it will sell very well. At the current MSRP, I don’t feel it is a good deal.

@@StateOfChargeWithTomMoloughney Ya, I wish GM would price their cars right from the start, instead of shooting high, and then adding massive discounts. So because is a Chevy it should be priced lower than a Tesla? @@mamadouaziza2536 not exactly, it’s not just that it’s a Chevy, it’s that a comparable Tesla offers a higher quality interior, much faster charging, and the network to charge on for travel nearly anywhere in the USA. Then you come down to nicer styling, better acceleration, better handling, a glass roof, all benefits of model 3 or y. Believe me, I’m a big-time fan of GM, and have several million dollars of their stock. However just because I like GM, doesn’t make me a fool... At $43,000 loaded the Bolt EUV is overpriced by 4 to 5k in the market, and will find limited success without discounts. My point is, why does GM overprice the car, and then discount, which just leads to less customer satisfaction, because some customers are going to pay too much because they’re too lazy or inexperienced to negotiate. If GM wants to start selling cars at full price, they need to have the full price be market competitive. I mean I will stand in line to pay $113,000 for the hummer EV, but would never give you $43000 for a Bolt EUV.

It uses CCS, which is the de facto DC fast charging standard: tons of CCS chargers around the US and more every day. At 55 kW it does charge 20% slower on CCS than its closest competitors (and a Tesla charges twice as fast), but it's sufficient for the occasional road tripper: up to 90-100 miles added in 30 minutes. @@dane9193 Go Blue! I lived and drove in Michigan winters for many years. Never used snow tires. Had FWD mostly, sometimes AWD. Currently live somewhere it doesn’t snow often but is wet a lot. So snow tires for the winter just don’t make sense for me now. As for poor rain performance, that’s pretty much every review and technical discussion of winter tires I have ever read. icyroadsafety.com/winter-tires.shtml

Russell, everyone talks about range but really do most people drive 250-300 miles a day? Were thinking of getting this and replacing our 2005 mini van which has 200,000 miles on it. We checked and my wife drives 25-30 miles a day. I think this is going to work for us. Charge at home every 3-4 days or so.

Hope ID.4 doesn't have the same software issues as the ID.3 has. VW rushed the ID.3 to meet government requirements resulting in two things: 1. poor software that was not ready for prime time 2. Failed to actually meet the requirements of the government

I imagine the reviewers aren't allowed to talk about factory and dealer incentives because it's already possible to get Bolts for MUCH cheaper than MSRP; $25k or less for the premier trim at some dealerships. The lower MSRP on the 2022 versions will likely just mean smaller factory rebates, and in the end, they'll be close to the same price as now with a slight premium on the EUV. The price is decent without the rebates... but that EUV Launch Edition is WAY too expensive. It's competing with the model Y LR and ID.4. The ID.4 1st edition has the same MSRP but is still eligible for the $7500 tax credit. The Y LR is $5k more; but it's faster, has longer range, more interior space, and likely better software and drivers assistance. $5k is a hefty sum but at $44k, a lot of people will splurge for the extra $5k. It'll really come down to whether GM offers incentives right out of the gates on these vehicles. I imagine they will.
