I do own one . I love it !!!! When you do 0-100 km/h engage awd system it will go around 6 seconds mark. Consumption on highway is around 10 l/ 100 , around suburbs does 15 l on average , pretty good for the size of the engine and truck. I had a diesel ranger before and it was around 13 l/ 100 . You do need to use 95 octane petrol or higher. Don’t mind the all safety future’s missing as I m not gone use them anyway. Price is around 125000 Aud drive away for Trailboss and around 140000 Aud for LTZ spec . Beautiful truck all around!!!!

Holy crap. I had no clue they sold any of these things in the AU. I accidentally stumbled upon this thinking it was a US review. Converting 125000 AU dollars to US dollars still makes this close to a $100k truck. They are around $60,000 US here. So you guys are paying a lot for these things. And I would wonder if you can even get the "work truck" versions of these, which are more like $30k. I guess maybe its because there's zillions of the things here and they are probably rare as hen's teeth in AU

I'm curious to know what your guys's global demographic is. I personally live in the US, greetings Paul from Sparks, NV USA. I love watching your videos because I'm always curious to know what different vehicles Australia has compared to the US. I've commented a few times on y'alls videos, and everytime I mentioned something, you guys always seem to listen to your subscribers input. But I am personally curious what the demographic is globally for your subscribers, like how many if us live in the United States, and how many watch from Australia and the like. Just one personal suggestion, possibly convert millimeters into inches and feet when it comes to ride height. We know 0-100 is the same as 0-60. Keep up the awesome work as always CarExpert fellas! I’m watching from the UK. We don’t have enough US vehicles here. We also don’t have a rule on requiring RHD conversions so apart from adding amber turn signals and rear fog lights they go straight on the road here in LHD. Well done mate, i have to admit that i didn't watch the review but just wanted to comment anyways. It's simple because we don't get such bukkies in South Africa, things like this Chev , those big Toyota trucks like the Tandra and the Takuma(not sure of the spelling), the Ford F series and the Maveric. I think the all new Ranger will be a perfect fit for our market in terms of looks compared to the outgoing model, I'm not complaining by any means it's just something worth pointing out. The Ranger Raptor is exceptional in terms of driving dynamics and handling on and off road, it is quite pricey as expected but not that far off. To be honest, i don't wish that these trucks make it to our shores some days because of obvious reasons such as pricing and size, our roads are not as narrow as those in UK and not as wide as the the ones in the US. 😁😁😁

There is NO "centre diff lock", probably because there is NO centre differential! This truck is not a full-time 4WD and so does not need a centre differential to take up the differential speed between the front and rear axle's. When you select either Hi or Lo 4WD it actually locks the transfer case into a 50/50 spilt of torque to the front and rear. Any speed differential of the axles is taken up by "slipping" of the wheels on the road surface - which is why you should only engage 4WD on these types of vehicles when on loose surface and NOT asphalt roads.

As others have suggested, this is a genuine 4x4, but you MUST select either 4H or 4L to lock the transfer case (centre diff lock) into 50% drive fore and aft. Shame you didn't do a 4wd surface test in a 4wd mode. Auto is not dedicated drive to all axles, it's proportional thru a open centre diff, good for loose surface on formed roads/tracks only. As for the light in the mirror, is that not just a clearance light for incoming vehicles at night, a requirement by law for vehicles over a particular width, a category this vehicle would have to comply with. For all that say too expensive, compared to 79 series Cruiser, it is actually cheaper, far superior ride, better fitout, and compliant to drive tow with etc. Yes there will be a majority of people say they'd chose a cruiser anyway over this, all I can say, their loss. The 70 Series are farm trucks, designed as such, these US trucks are comfortable tourers/tow vehicles, class leaders in this category. Aussies need to get used to this type of vehicles becoming more dominate on our roads as more cashed up tourists take to vanning it in Oz opposed to international touring. Looking forward to the day these things hit the second hand market in mass numbers lowering the price for more humble desiree's like me.

They certainly do have a place in Aus as safer and more capable tow vehicles for heavy towing. Cue ‘but mah 200 can tow 5 tonne no worries doing 7 litres to the 100’

I would ask can this Silverado really tow a 4T caravan with 4 people and full tank of fuel? Just the basics.
@jackh4787
2 жыл бұрын
@@bushmagpie3312 perhaps not this exact one but other models and the rams could easily. This model is still better than a 200 series with 610kg payload minus 350 is 260 for people and luggage, forget bullbars, roof racks, winches etc

@@jackh4787 hi Jack these are advertised as tour/towIng vehicles but they are not even as good as a other utes in mid size. But the mid size ie Ranger has better payload so you can take family ie 1000kg and tow 3T. This Silverado or Ram can’t take family ie 4 people and full tank fuel + 300kg ball weight. Don’t worry about even towing your over the GVM.

That isn't exactly the "Entry level" Silverado. The entry level versions are the contractor variants that are Rear wheel drive only, a generic bench seat and so on. Guess those make no sense to sell in AU

@@nigelupton9030 I wonder, would it just be cheaper to buy one from the US and just ship the thing over as left hand drive? Or is that illegal there?
@nigelupton9030
2 жыл бұрын
@@setharp You can, the overall cost difference is very little for equivalent. Most people who do this get very high spec or GMC. With our $ conversion, crazy tax & import duties & then the physical LH to RH drive swap lower end models just don't stack up - pretty much double your MSRP & that is what we end up paying in AU.
@setharp

@@nigelupton9030 Thanks for the explanation. You would think that if these become more popular GM, Ford etc could ship knockdown kits to AU and have them assembled there, which would knock down the import duties.
