this made me shed a tear... my old 1992 chevy camaro rs in turquoise, rolling down i95. it was totaled in an accident. someone ran a light and i got banged up pretty bad... well i just bought another one for $2500. its in rough shape, but the engine cranks and runs like a dream. so little by little i am going to restore it back to original condition, and this video made me happy to see finish product... to many its just an engine, to me, i learned everything about auto repair through this engine, took to many places I never thought I would see. helped outrun troubles, brought me peace on my long drives. got me and the best friend home night running from tampa in an hour, and lastly its the one that got me inspired into mechanics, now I fix airplanes, so to me the ending is so fitting... :)

I'm now a subscriber! I love this channel... but, and it's a tiny but, we ALWAYS like to hear it run at the end... all that effort by you pros should be rewarded by a healthy grunt of it turning over for the 1st time. More so on the super old groggy engines. Please please add more "1st time turnovers"

That was a hella lot of cooked on oil covering that engine at the start, can't imagine how bad it smelled at shutdown on a hot summer day.

Around 40-60 hours, since we were filming and that slowed things down.

Donny Nice well block work is around 300-700$ then parts if going back original and using your old rods and crank around 500$ You can mostly do a rebuild like this for about 1500$ to 1600$ if your doing the rebuild yourself and only having the machine shop doing the block work.

The ex mans arent the bad part, its putting all that time and money into those stock heads. 800 bucks gets you brand new aluminum, prolly cost atleast half that to do stockers.

What's wrong with that? Don't have to worry about them rusting through or warping, at least.

There's just something satisfying about seeing grease and oil buildup being removed from the inside of an engine.
