Love what you said about having a "super pantry" instead of seeing things separately as "super food". You are right you can't expect magic from the Chía seeds if your diet is poor and unhealthy!

Healthy eating and financial management should be taught in all schools around the world. The reason they don't focus on these is due to them making so much money from people in debt and eating crap foods. Can you imagine how many businesses would go bust if everyone was educated on how to eat healthily and manage their money.

i am really impressed how dr.chan emphasize the importance of being a mindful eater, instead of the "healthy-hashtag-hunter", if you know what i mean. i am watching how people on social media really glorify some kind of superfood or healthyfoodies term onto their feed's hashtag. to be honest, that acts really worrying me since it has tight relation with fast media consumption habit among people today. thanks for sharing, dr.chan

I eat this everyday. can u tell me if this diet is okay or if I'm missing something. so here what I eat everyday I wake up and drink a 8 oz glass of water with a Half lemon and 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar then ten minutes later I have glass of carrot Juice Then 1 hour later I have a plate of fruit Canalope pineapple and oranges Then 1 hour later I have brocoli tomatoes mushroom peppers onions with 1 tbsp of flaxseed mixed in with a whole grain tortilla Then 2 hours later I have another glass of carrot Juice Then 2 hour later I have butternut squash spinach and corn with 2 tbsp of chia seeds in my dish. Then I have green tea Then I take aspirin and water and go to bed and that's it. Is this enough nutrients for one day? Is it healthy enough? And is it okay to put my ground chia seeds in my stir fry while cooking or does this kill the nutrients? Please help I'm trying to get healthy I just found a tumor in my neck although it's not cancer I don't want it to turn into and want to get rid of it the best way I know how ...eat good. Thanx I'll be patiently waiting for a response I know your probably very busy so anything will help. Thank you very much.

@@TheTwangKings Slowed by the fat and fiber content of ground chia seed. And to further the point, an insulin spike is not a thing to twist your mind over because it a normal metabolic part of eating meals. Even protein produces an insulin response. Hmmm...I personally can see why they'd be called super foods though. If your goal is to maintain a healthy omega 3 to 6 ratio, the small amount of chia seeds required to do so is extremely impressive. They're virtually flavorless, can be blended in to anything without really noticing them and they're not terribly expensive. They really pack a punch if you have a specific goal and don't want to consume excess calories.

I read that chia seeds absorb a lot of water, so if used with dry foods they will pull water from your intestines. so I soak the seeds for 20 minutes. The water turns to gelatin. If they are this permeable they shouldn't need to be ground I assume the gelatinous quality means they will be protective of our intestines in addition to their other health benefits.

Chia seeds do get very “jelly” like when you add liquid. I didn’t like chia seed pudding for that reason. But after adding coconut, nuts, and mixed berries to it, I now love it.
