You already know, we love your chiang mai videos. This was a great recap on all the costs of living. The accommodation and food parts have been super useful for our budget planning. We will make sure we get some medical insurance just in case 👌👍

Tina this video was 👌🏼 I didn’t even know I wanted to live in Chiang Mai but now I do. I can’t believe that accom was $800! But you guys are way braver than us, I totally wouldn’t do the whole family on the scooter 😂🙈

Thanks, Rachelle! Yeah, you can definitely go even cheaper from $300/month if you're not fussed about having a pool/gym/sauna.. super affordable place to live for us westerners. Haha Andy was hesitant at first but I convinced him otherwise and once we got into the groove of it, it was awesome!

I loved hearing all about your time in Chiang Mai! 🙌🏻 It's great that your accomodation had a gym, pool and sauna! 🏖 The food looked DELICIOUS! What was your favourite dish?

It was so convenient having those facilities and the boys absolutely loved the pool. The food is soooooooo good!! I have a lot of favourites but ones that have stood out recently are Northern Thai dishes. Super spicy and full of herb flavour! mmmm i want to go back now haha How about yourself, what's your favourite dish?

Hadn't heard of the red trucks, but they look like a cool experience just on their own 😎It certainly looks like families are well catered for in Chiang Mai with plenty of activities to wear the kids out...or proper over the counter meds 😂😳🤣 Out of curiosity, what program is Andy using to edit on? He just keeps nailing some awesome transitions with every video👍

hahaha they are a cool experience on their own. The driver doesn't get out so your just winging it getting in and holding onto whatever you can. Sometimes it gets so packed there are people hanging off the back of them. Andy uses adobe premier pro. It was recommended by a friend. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for that and even if the red trucks weren't packed, I now want to hang off the back of one just cos you said we can, haha.

Hey Hey! From what we have seen in our research and for the Nimman Area (best area in Chiang Mai, also check out our Chiang Mai best area to stay video for more details), a boutique hotel for under 50 USD a night or guests houses for 20 - 30 USD a night. Local eateries for 1 dish can come to $1 - $2! absolute bargain and delicious! Getting around would depend on where you want to go and how far they are. Transport is cheap just have to be mindful of the attractions your visiting. Some can get really pricey for Thai standards. Hope that helps!

The food hygiene is not great just because you didn’t get sick. In the markets, chicken is often cooked in the morning, sits out on banana leaves all day in the Thai heat, and sits out the next day until sold, if not the day after (after being reheated perhaps). Noodle vendors have raw chicken sitting exposed in the hot sun waiting to be cooked. Also, $800 a month for rent is too high. Even a modern 1-bedroom in a good neighborhood, with a gym/pool, could be had for $409-$500.
