I can attest to the fact that everyone hit the dance floor when this jam came on. Chic got the ultimate revenge for their rejection-a huge hit! 😁

Great Reaction and great song/group. Yep other songs from Chic you could play include: "Good Times", "Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance everybody Dance. Also seeing as Grace Jones was mentioned - how about doing a reaction to one of her songs/videos too? Maybe: "I've seen that face before" or "Walking in the rain or "Slave to the Rhythm" or "Pull up to the bumper"?

Studio 54 opened as a Disco in April 1977 through early 1980…..Disco was a fad that lasted until 1979 ….the last big Disco song was We Are Family…by Sister Sledge….it was made famous by the 1979 Pirates who won the World Series

Really into the early 80s because some super-hit still came out till it yes was mainly in dance clubs circuit and House music vs top 20 to top 10 hits. Probably by the 1979 Chicago White Sox game incident.... still hit songs did occur into early 80s. Hit back hard.... was probably.... being too gay (as it started their community and of course as gay anthems) and too black for many hits were Black artist. The 1980s then continued much more top charting white artist under Rock, Hard Rock, Hair Metal and general Pop etc. Disco overstatuate everything and Americans many rejected changing fashion it was inspiring It got into... got over-exposure for those who did not want such change.... similar to today reject change from less manly conservative values etc. Official as listed as all Disco perhaps 1981.... more like 1982 that Disco was declared dead. Yet continued in other aspects as in House Music thru the 80s and beyond. Still even in 1982 The song - Gloria came out by Laura Branigan and again energized it a bit ..... EXAMPLES... Blondie - Call Me #1 in 1980. Lipps Inc. - Funkytown #1 in 1980. Kool and the Gang - Celebration #1 in 1981. Gloria - Laura Branigan #2 in 1982. The Weather Girls - It's Raining Men #1 in 1982. Irene Cara - Flashdance #1 in 1983. Pointer Sisters - I'm So Excited #9 in 1984 remix.

Next: Sister Sledge “He’s The Greatest Dancer” 🔥 I have always thought that people who hated Disco simply couldn’t dance and were socially awkward; may be mean, but true. It is nearly impossible to not feel uplifted and happy when listening and especially when dancing ❤

In the early 80s nobody seemed to appreciate Chic. 'Dissco is dead' they said - overlooking the fact that Chic were not JUST a disco act. Nile was head-hunted by Madonna & Bowie. Bernard by Robert Palmer & Power Station. And 'only the drummer' Tony Thompson got recruited by Led Zeppelin of all people. Bernard (his bass never replicated since) & Tony are gone now but Nile is still out there making fine music and continuing the legacy of the CHIC Organization.

David Bowie went to Nile Rogers to perform and produce a dance music album. "Let's Dance". Bowie went from years as an avantgarde artsy musician to rock star status. You want to make a dance album, hire Nile Rogers. He toured with Bowie for years after that.

Shout out to Fenom202, thanks for clarifying that y'all had not seen the video before. I had left a comment in your, "Boogie Wonderland", comments section saying that in order for these to be legit reactions, something has to be new to at least one of you, whether that be the music video, the live performance, or of course, the song itself. And that we appreciate knowing which of you knows what, when it comes to each reaction you guys post. So thanks for telling us the music video was new to y'all. And btw, I always thought it was one girl, too. It's an all-time classic song, and I love the Studio 54 backstory you provided, I did not know that. lol Next from your channel I suggest you do your second Bee Gees reaction, to their song, *"Fanny (Be Tender With My Love)",* it is awesome. It's probably new to all 3 of you, but even if it's not, there is a great music video of them performing the song. To find the video I'm talking about, do a search for it on KZitem by typing in: *Bee Gees - Fanny Be Tender With My Love (Full Version)* It was posted 13 years ago and has 1.4M Views. I *_strongly_* recommend you use that exact video. You fellas will love it! (Mrs. Gibb, the 3 boys' mother, said it was her favorite song her sons had ever made. I think I agree with her.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After watching the documentary on Studio 54, maybe it was a blessing. They refused many famous people but it was a pretty trashy place to be honest. Disco was huge in the 70's, I loved it and so easy to dance to. You guys should react to "A Taste of Honey", "Boogie, Oogie Oogie."

Actually, there was only one female voice for the song’s recording which is heard here. It was Norma Jean Wright. But for live performances, Bernard Edwards and Nile Rogers both felt that a second female singer was needed so they hired Lucí Martin, a friend of Norma Jean’s. They are the two women in the video.
