I've dug a number of trash pits and privies in central Illinois and still no hutches except one slick. Really impressed with the number of hutches you find up there. That amber one is incredible. The cobalt lamp base is killer as well. Great digs, thanks for sharing!

Nice how you bumrushed the hole and took that Amber hutch for yourself after your buddy dug it. Did you see the look on his face when you did that?

I sure hope the kid who dug that amber hutch gets it or at least gets half its worth. Sweet bottles.

Thanks for your support! The kid who dug it is my twin brother. Since we are family, we give whatever bottle the other one needs for their collection. I collect Hutchinson soda bottles, he collects pre 1880 sodas. It’s great to dig with family, we don’t have to deal with buying each out.

can't find any patent or patent design for the "April 18, 1883" cobalt lantern base. Is the date accurate - dirty surface and slightly out of focus, any other maker's marks on it, or a name of the producer ?

Those were the only markings on it.

@@thechicagobottlediggers290 Then this can only be a Canadian or British patent date origin and export product to the States.
