Jordan had that ice game...he was evolving and you can see how the team would improve....Mike was getting his dime on with his '89 game, that was the year he evolved to help the team, they lost more games which is why Collins got fired...he had to bail them out with a last second shot at the foul line.....See, they should not have struggled that much in '88-'89 because they were a 6th seed...but individually, Mike was on-point in 1988-89 and was constantly getting better, which is why that shot in Cleveland was so enormous...it was a result of hard work he put in to improve the team and if he misses that shot, Jordan gets out in that 1st round and who knows where he goes from there concerning his ability to help his team?.... I am a Pistons fan but this guy Jordan was too good and even though I don't think '91 was real vs. Detroit but Jordan was 100% on his game all the time ... really, name a time where Mike wasn't on his game? I can name 2 times...a game in 1990 vs. Detroit in January and game 5 in the '89 ECF and that game in Miami in game 4 in 1997 in the Eastern Conference Finals where he struggled because they were up 3-0...I mean that's how on-point Jordan was with his game.

I truly have no clue how Doug Collins lasted as long as he did, even letting Vincent,Corzeen,and Sellers breathe the same air as Jordan...Cartwright i'm sure,caused Mike migraines many a night,also!

In fact Collins built up the 90's team. It's an unpopular opinion but the team was finished and Phil Jackson picked up the present.

Jack Haley spent one season in Barcelona in, of course, a very bad team. He returns to the States as bad as he had gone out. More muscled and the same outfit. I saw him as a commentator I think in the Fox... But im not sure. I know Fox is a quite weird channel but to hire Haley is almost a temerity.

@@sith06 yeah like Zion ain’t got the left hand of God kind of touch on his layups or the ability to get a rebound and put it back. In fact he would be better because he is bigger and can hop higher. If Zion now was put in Charles’ position, he would do better than him. He didn’t have to really get post moves because handles were the wave. Different eras. But Zion’s the better talent

@woodland5444 Barkley led the league in rebounding, he led in off reb 3x's. He led the league in 2 pt fg's 3-4 times. Better when and where? And who is Zion's competition, these weak, fake big men.

No, they don't. Do you have any idea how many teams, across multiple sports, have worn white colored uniforms for their home games?

Not mine, I can tell you. What's more, wear white at home is only current in USA basket. In all around the world the teams have their clearly easy to identify uniform.

So they just let Jordan shot perimeter jumpshots?😂 The defense was awful Jordan played in a weak era
@hbkslush
6 ай бұрын
Not that defence was a super-high priority in the 80s, but to be fair to Jordan, there was a period early in his career where a lot of teams would give him those perimeter jumpshots, because they believed that he was little more than a "drive & dunk" guy. I know it's hard to believe considering what he did in the 90s, but that was the prevailing "wisdom" in those days.
