Keep digging up footage of these awesome CNW commuters. I spent many a day watching these things going in and out of downtown Chicago. Brings me back to my Childhood.

Oh, how that brings back so many memories of the Old C&NW Commuter Trains. I used to ride from Woodstock to Chicago for several years back in the mid-70's just as everything was being converted over to RTA (Pre-METRA (Thanks for Sharing!)

This is authentic in a way few people likely know. The single chime horn was a feature of the E7s and E8s that pulled the Twin Cities 400 through the Eau Claire area in the fifties and early sixties.

That's a cool locomotive, I always thought the front of these EMDs made them look like a happy locomotive for some reason. I imagine that the 411, and even some of these very cars ran through Antigo Wi. on occasion back in the day when the CNW still went through here. Sadly though, I never did get to see any trains running through here, as by the time we moved here from Cape Cod in '87, they had already abandoned the line and pulled up the tracks a few years before hand. Little else remains of that line, but the CNW Antigo depot still stands today and is owned by the Antigo Housing Authority and much of the old right of way within the city limits now has a few houses, some apartments including next to the depot, the city hall/fire department and a couple other buildings on it.
