Chicken dum biryani is a delicious dish you can make. It is popular in many parts of India and this video clearly explains various steps involved in making it.
This video will take you through the steps of making delicious Chicken dum biryani. You can use the same process to make any type of biryani just by substituting the type of meat. This recipe is enough for at least 4 persons.
The ingredients required for making tasty chicken biryani are as follows:
For making rice:
Basmati rice : 300 grams ( should be soaked in water at least 30 minutes prior to cooking)
Black pepper -- 10 -- 15 black pepper cones ( for rice)
Cloves -- 3-4 for the basmati rice
Cardamom -- 4-5 pods
Salt to taste
For Making chicken masala:
Chicken breast fillet-- cut into small pieces - 600 grams ( with bone)
Bay leaves - 2 nos.
Star anise -- 1 no.
Garam masala powder : 2 tablespoons
Turmeric powder : ½ tea spoon
Chilli paste : 1 tablespoon
Ginger garlic paste : 4 tablespoons
Onions (medium sized ) diced-- 4 nos.
Tomato puree -- 2 tablespoons
Yogurt - 4 tablespoons
Tomatoes: 2 big ones diced
Dried plums - 4 nos.
Dried dates: 2 nos.
Sugar : 1 teaspoon
For the Dum process
Dried Raisins / kismis - 50 grams
Cashew nuts - 20 grams
Saffron
Milk - 20 ml.
Lemon - 1 no.
Butter or Ghee ( clarified butter ) -- 100 grams
