My mom worked as the cook for a fraternity for a couple years and I would regularly help with the shopping and prep. The guys were always nice and were really grateful to have hot meals to come home to after a day of studying.

A question for the next Q&A video. Who cooks when you've got sick or vacation days? Do you keep some meals in the freezer just in case, or do the girls just have to fend for themselves?

I know someone who has a job like this, except she cooks for a frat house. Just a small 20-35 person house in the North Eastern US. She was a chef and while working with a catering service she made some contacts with the University and was offered the job.

Thanks for answering all the questions Kev! I've got more! Do you buy the food for the house and is that part of (added to) your salary? Or does the sorority have a food budget or something like that? Do you have to go to the store for everything? Do you have a food service provider instead?

I've always noticed how you cook for the girls in the sorority as though they're your own daughters -- with a desire to provide them with healthy nutrition, expand their food horizons, and recognize that every now and then one person might just not like a dish and will not be left to "starve" because of it. I suspect there is very little need for you to cater to different palates because you are skilled at appetizing presentations and always consider that there is such a thing as too this or too that and strive to strike the right tone. I'm sure those girls will look back with gratitude on the outstanding chef who fed them in college -- especially when they get out into the real world and have to feed themselves and others.
