I love learning things about what grows wild around me. I'm 70 and even though I've used these plants for food and medicine for all of those years, I'm always open to new insights. I don't always know why things work, because granny didnt; she just knew some things worked. I have my own note books of things passed down and share when I can. I'm in Western Kentucky.

Fantastic reason to get my husband to finally stop using pesticides on our property! Our daughter has tunnelling boils, and is taking an awful injection every week to turn her over active immune system off.... We could have just used this? Wow, no wonder it's growing all over our property, God was showing me He had an answer all along! Like I said, now to get hubby to let the land do its thing...🙏

Great video! I have tons of chickweed in my garden. Your video has inspired me to add this plant to my plantain salve! Being very sensitive, I use coconut oil instead of olive oil. Love your books! 💚🧚🌞

well, I found out today (thanks to this info that the new bump on my wrist is a ganglion cyst). So, I made a poultice for it and for the bump I have on my palm below one of my fingers...which is causing a trigger type finger...I put a poultice on them both today twice ......and the trigger finger is actually able to bend....no ice needed either...Im surprised. Its pretty awesome!! Tomorrow, Im going to harvest a bunch more and make a salve. Thankyou so much, I believe it made a difference today.

My chickens love chickweed. I let it grow where it comes up. I like to let it get well established each season, then early mornings while still damp with dew, i will harvest a bunch of it for my budgie & parakeet who just love to kind of scuff about and lay in it to bathe. I use it in salad too. Definitely going to make this salve. My granddaughter has chronic eczema and i have chronic asthma we are both cold and dry. I’m getting so much out of the mini course on getting the right herbs for me… i just started lesson 4. Plus… I ordered your book the other day and cannot wait for it to wing its way to Australia 🇦🇺

The information in this video has been so helpful. I never thought that chickweed was for me because of the "cooling effect" and I am always cold. 🥶 But I never considered the frequent eye and skin irritations I sometimes encounter.

Do we have any good alternative to bees wax to make salve? Can we use cocoa butter?
@HerbsWithRosalee
7 ай бұрын
It depends on what you're looking for... I prefer beeswax to tropical waxes because I get it locally from ethical beekeepers. So I know it's the best choice environmentally. If environmental impact is not an issue for you then you can order exotic waxes from tropical places. Carnauba is commonly used, but it is harder than beeswax so the ratio you use will be different. Cocoa butter could also be used... I can't say I've seen that but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Could this be used as a nasal spray? I have such a dry nose… in the summer because of the fans and in the winter because of the heater. Also I live in a dry climate. I usually make a chickweed herbal infusion just to drink, once or twice a week and I am so tempted to just spray it up my nose with a nasal sprayer bottle. Thanks for any information.

Would it be ok to, instead of heating, let the chickweed set in the oil for several weeks?
@HerbsWithRosalee
2 жыл бұрын
It's possible but you have to be really careful that it doesn't develop mold. Water and oil are generally not a good mix.

Is it also beneficial to combat brain inflammation?
@HerbsWithRosalee
Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't expect chickweed, on its own, to make a significant impact on brain inflammation. That's a bit more complex and requires a more thoughtful and holistic protocol.
