Thunderhawk was a prominent Hunkpapa Lakota Chief. He isn't as well known as Gall, Crazy Horse, Rain in the Face, Red Cloud, or Sitting Bull.
Thunderhawk is credited (along with Mrs. Picotte-Galpin) for saving the life of Father Jean Pierre DeSmet during the 1860s when the Northern Plains became violent.
Thunderhawk was a part of the Sioux Delegation that went to Washington DC in 1888.
