Hi Lexi, as always super informative and helpful. So amazing you got your brush engraved with ATLB...gold lettering is nicer than black especially on that colour handle. You landed the coveted P-8 during a sale...nice score! No one deserved that FB brush giveaway more...especially the meaning behind it. Thank you for the detail and effort you put into this and all your videos. 🥰❤❤

Loved this video. I have nearly all these brushes sans the p-8. I opted to purchase the Koyudo Raden Kolinsky powder brush first since it is limited (and the large eyeshadow brush). You may want to take a look at that series since you’re an avid Fude collector. They are gorgeous. Keep the brush videos coming! I love viewing all the beauties.

Wonderful fude video as always! I just got some time to watch before bed and thoroughly enjoyed every bit! I believe I have everything I ever wanted from Chikuhodo, so I might have to skip all Visage sales until they come out with new brilliant brushes - seeing how they won't exactly have KZ around. I have to say I did get enticed to buy backups for some of them from watching your video, trying my best to keep my "no backup" rule that I set for myself 😊. Oh btw, that light wooden box is made of paulownia wood - native to Japan and East Asia 😃.

excellent video Lexi, that P-8 looks spectacular. I ended up getting 4 brushes, 3 buffers including the PF-4. It is so soft, I mistook it for Saikoho but the site says it's Sokoho. Such a great buy, I'm really happy with the brushes I purchased and the time between ordering and shipping even with the engraving was so fast for my order.

I can't understand how fude makers can afford sales while we are told hair supplies are less and less available, prices go up for and entire lines are discontinued.
@LexiJong
3 жыл бұрын
As with anything there is a markup that we pay and at times it may be more beneficial for a company to take a hit on the profit per item in order to entice more people to order. The brushes that are in high demand and are being discontinued such as the kz brushes are excluded from all sales. I think a lot of companies are struggling. The last sale from Visage was not as beneficial to consumers so I think that model probably did not boost sales as much.

Great series. Thank you for the recommendations. I have had the Z-5 for a while and I use it rarely because it is too big for my limited eyelid space. That powder brush is beautiful but in Cdn dollars, it is prohibitive. Am mulling over some of the brushes that are suitable for cream or lotion application (I tend to use my fingers because typical foundation brushes leave streaks). The perfect blending brush size for me is the SG mini booster - is the Z-11 similar in size to the mini booster?
@LexiJong
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jocelyne! Thank you for sharing. The Z-11 is a little bigger than the mini booster both in length and diameter. It is like a "big sister" in essence. It may still be small enough to work for you as a large blender. If you DM me on instagram (@alexisjong) I can send you some comparison photos if you want.
@jocelynel-fab5214
3 жыл бұрын
@@LexiJong Thank you for the reply and for offering to do comparison pics. The Z-11 sounds like a good companion for the mini booster. BTW, I got my hands on the new PML eye quad yesterday at my local Sephora, and it is so-so flattering - BUT super tricky to use - because the two special shades are so prone to fallout. I have found that the TF glitter glue is essential - and it has to be tacky and applied only on the mobile lid. I used the mini SG flat definer to tap each of the two « special » shades over the primer in a targeted single layer and with minimal blending where the shades meet. I have had it on all day and my cheeks are glitter-free. (The fact that it’s hard to use provides extra satisfaction and that’s the reason I am so happy with it - I suspect that nobody would even notice the difference between this eyeshadow and other shadows I wear.) I also got the blush in « Fleurtacious » and it’s a perfectly natural-looking shade on me - it is matte - not semi-matte as described. The new highlighter is apparently too dark for light skin tones so I passed - I have a couple of HG highlighters anyway.
@LexiJong
3 жыл бұрын
@@jocelynel-fab5214 i just wore the quad last night and I love it too! I used the ESUM mixing medium instead of glitter glue but I didn’t have any fallout with that. The shades are so beautiful! I never got CT fire rose but I have heard they are similar. I personally think nothing compares to Pat’s special shades and this palette is so much more unique than her recent quads. I am so glad you love it too. I have been testing out her blushes and i really like them. I have the highlighter but it is a bit dark as you mentioned.

Did you happen to receive the new Wayne Goss set yet? It says the handles are wood in one place - but no mention in another. They seem plastic to me. If you received them - please tell me what you think they are.
@janebarnette6548

I heard that the handles were made of maple wood (according to Sweet Temptations or Sonia G), not plastic. I have not bought the WG Edit set because I am waiting for them to be available individually, but they do intrigue me.
@LexiJong

I did not purchase the Wayne Goss brushes. As Jane says below, the handles are maple wood according to Sonia G and the bristles are Saikoho goat hair. I agree that they look kind of plasticky in the photos I have seen but it is probably the type of lacquer used on the handles. I had a hard time finding out more details on these brushes so I am relying on Sonia G at sweetmakekuptemptations for information as well.

I’m saying that - because I hit that “purchase” button right after they became available & now I’m holding the plastic looking handles wondering what they are really made of - they are very light as well. I much prefer the genuine wooden look of his previous calligraphy handle release (that I missed out on). I can’t see any sort of graining. They all are very tapered & not full (in comparison to his 12 - which is similar to the refr 4&5) Am I missing something? I’m feeling underwhelmed.

Hi Lexi, It's been a while. Always happy to watch your videos. I have 3 of the Chikuhodo Z series brushes. Powder, Blush and blush/jighlighter ..squirrel. I use serum, moisturizer and liquid foundation. I seldom use powder unless it shimmery since I like a dewy finish. How would I use these brushes with my makeup routine...should have thought about asking that before purchasing. thanks 🤔🤔🤔
@LexiJong
Жыл бұрын
Hi Denise! Unfortunately squirrel hair is best used with powder products. If you use them with liquid or cream products, the makeup can accumulate and become to heavy for the hair and cause breakage. This is particularly a problem if you don't wash your brushes immediately because if the product dries on the bristles, it creates some extra "tugging" when you go to remove it. Do you ever dust a setting powder on to your eyes to prevent creasing? The highlight brush could be used there. I really can't think of any other uses though for the blush and powder brush if you don't use powders. Could you perhaps gift these to a friend who would appreciate them? If not, there is a market for brushes where people sell their fude but I am assuming since these are readily available, you would lose money on that endeavor. Otherwise I would say to just make an effort to use these when you do occasionally use powder. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer!

@@LexiJong oh no😱😱😱😱 if I pass on foundations some days, I can't even use over my moisturiser when applying blush or highlighter? Not happy.😡 Not sure I understand the point of these brushes then...
